Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Beds were hard. The sink was blocked.however, I booked a double room and we were given a twin room, which we were not happy with. As we were staying for one night , we put up with it.

More organisation in the kitchen re breakfast supplies
Hotel room and location good. Breakfast was a bit lacking in organisation, i.e. as food etc running out had to wait for someone to replenish and also had to wait for knives and forks

Although the room was very clean it had a bit of a smell of, I presume, the cleaning products … not too offensive and it was light but a nice air freshener would’ve maybe hidden it .
The location great to get to the O2 and cable cars , plus it’s a lovely area outside the city . We were guests of the day so got upgraded to a room with a view and little surprises in our rooms. Wonderful ☺️

Perfect location for Excel (next door) and a 2 minute walk to the cable cars which take you to the O2 and back. Also, a 5 minute walk from Custom House station on Elizabeth Line direct from Paddington Station.

Lacked choice of food on menu for dairy free. Bar staff not knowledgeable on the menu about allergens. Not an extensive menu. Breakfast was busy but tables weren’t cleared quickly limiting choice of tables to sit at. Tables are not cleaned after clearing dirty plates.

Someone managed to somehow access our room while we were watching tv the first night which made me question the security of the key cards

One evening we arrived back to the hotel after 10:30pm and the front doors were closed. No key card entry on the outside. We had to wait for a member of staff to come the door and check we had a key, before letting us in. Room was warm and stuffy. Noise from the air conditioning unit… couldn’t leave it on over night. No glasses or plastic cups in room for water. Unsure if ok to drink water from bathroom?
Clean, modern, comfortable. The was no internal or external noise. Slept well. Good location to tube station

Made a request for rooms together, as I was a carer for the person I took there and firstly allocated on different floors. Spoke to staff who did arrange for us to be on the same floor, however this took an hour and had to wait until 4pm to have the second room. Also on arrival they only had us down for one room and we had booked two, again staff had to check the reservation. In the morning at breakfast same problem only had 1 room down for breakfast, again explained to staff and they went back to check it.. and yes we had paid for 2 breakfast!

We ordered some cocktails from the bar, they were horrific and nothing like a cocktail, it just tasted of syrup and was undrinkable! We did get a refund but it took a bit of persuasion of the staff to get them to agree to refund me

Had booked twin rooms but been given double rooms - these were changed after I spoke to the manager.
Once we got the correct rooms, they were clean, functional and comfortable.

The shower holder was loose I had to hold shower head for height

Room smaller than expected and bathroom even worse (cabin type). However the room decor was nice and modern. Weak wifi signal. The room was freezing cold as the AC did not blow hot air but we were offered a heater. Strong points: complimentary bathrobes and slippers, helpful reception staff, nice lobby for a drink/coffee, vicinity to DLR

Shared hotel covered car park was very small and is a first come first served. Recommend getting there early. Breakfast was sub standard and evening meal was below average. Eat elsewhere.
