The property was warm enough, but reception room/area was a bit cold even though the fire was lit, just a small thing though.

Everything was faultless. Amazing chef who was happy to modify the dish - best schnitzel I’ve ever had! Gorgeous art work throughout. The log fires were lit and welcoming.

I cannot fault this hotel it was fantastic in every respect. The welcome was great, the room was perfect and it's in a superb location loverlooking the loch and close to Oban. Our ferry to Mull had been cancelled and it was exactly what we needed and great value for money. A brilliant stay!

Beautiful hotel in a lovely setting with top notch accommodations. We enjoyed sampling the scotch from their extensive single malt offerings in the comfortable bar. We would definitely stay here again and wholeheartedly recommend it. Pleasant staff and very comfortable and clean rooms.

What could be better would be a night porter. When you are a resident in a hotel of this standard it isn’t quite the thing to be served last orders at 10:30pm and the staff put off the fire especially when you are chatting to other guests. Part of being a hotel resident is choosing when to have a night cap and go to bed. We also think to charge £5 per person for the use of hot tub isn’t the right thing. The facility should be included. The menu doesn’t change and although the food is excellent, the choice won’t suit everyone nor is it extensive. There was no ice cream two nights running despite being a dessert choice on the menu.

The staff were absolutely fantastic - from the initial warm and friendly welcome from Stephanie to leaving. A special thank you to the chef for the birthday plate and Louise’s wonderful service at dinner.

We arrived relatively late (around 9 pm) and were received very friendly. Parking was easy, as they have enough space in front of the house. The owner explained everything to us. The key handover was uncomplicated, as the key was already in the door. When we entered the room, we felt at home right away. The room is very bright and large, and the beds are also very comfortable. We slept very well. The room is warm and the view is very nice! The room has large windows and you can directly perceive the forest air and the scent of wood or bonfire. We liked that very much. The bathroom has everything it needs and even a bathtub. Both rooms were very clean and you can see that they were recently renovated. Breakfast was also very good. You can take anything you want with you. There are breads, croissants, etc. with butter and jams or ham, juices for drinking, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water, milk, almond milk, etc. In addition, there are also muffins and granola or cornflakes. There is also fresh fruit. We would definitely come back.

Everything , you could tell they are doing renovations but nothing that ruined the views or the hotel inside. The staff were excellent. We didn’t eat there and was only there one night. We did go into the bar the morning just before we checked out for a coffee and they were actually getting it ready for a photo shoot to advertise weddings that they were obviously going to start doing at the hotel. Excellent location for a wedding definitely would recommend.

There was renovation work going on in the Reception area with dust sheets covering the furniture, although the lounge was still available. I had requested a quiet room but morning and evening I was aware of a lot of moving around in the room above (which I was told was for staff). It was, however, quiet enough through the night. There was only one bedside table and lamp on one side of the king size bed.

Lovely setting, friendly staff and plenty of parking. Their renovation work so far is looking good. I didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment on the food.

Food/drinks are just a little over priced. £8 for a small bottle of Schweppes lemonade & £6 or £7 for a shot of vodka is what let's it down. £32-38 per main course is too expensive even though it's exceptional quality. No facilities such as hottub due to work going on at present or log fires, but this didn't ruin our stay

We were above the main entrance which meant there were a few door hangs but on the whole there was no other background noise at all!

What a beautiful hotel in a fantastic place! We loved every minute from the comfy lounge and roaring fire to the super friendly and helpful staff. We didn't get a chance to sample the food as we had commitments in Oban which is only a few minutes drive away. We would definitely stay here again.

There was no food available in the evening probably because the hotel was so quiet. Hence the reason for 4 stars and not 5.
