Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomSome areas are looking a little tired and need some renovation work. Such as upper window frames. But overall the hotel is a lovely building
The location, the staff, the service, nothing was too much trouble.

GuernseyThe only issue we had was ordering room service. I am unable to eat something and my husband specified this when ordering but unfortunately when the food arrived it was wrong. This would never normally be an issue, it happens but most places are extremely good and just sort it without question. Unfortunately the staff member made my husband feel he was being accused of lying and this just simply wasn’t the case. My husband is very well versed in making the appropriate dietary requests so I know he would have asked. After a sort exchange, the kitchen agreed to change the order, so it was all sorted in the end and if the staff member had not made the false accusation, I’d have no negatives at all about this properly.
This property is absolutely perfect for a family. We stayed in a two bedroom cottage and our son had the upstairs bedroom leaving the whole of downstairs for us in the evening. The cottages are very well equipped and have everything you need for a break away.

United KingdomWe stayed in the two bedroom cottage and had absolutely no complaints. It was clean, modern with everything you need for a self catering break. Staff were friendly and accommodating, with the free airport transfer an added bonus. Easy transport links around the island as well, with a bus stop 50 yards from the property. We will return.

The staff at the hotel were all so lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Our flight got diverted to Jersey and we arrived at the hotel pretty late. The receptionist was so kind and rang around to find us a taxi for the morning (a challenge in Jersey!). The gentleman at the bar was also lovely and managed to rustle up some food for us, even though we arrived late. The room was beautiful and had a very comfy bed. La Place definitely made our unexpected diversion comfortable and relaxing!

United KingdomA few minor things didn’t work within the cottage and taxis were around £25 each way to St Hellier; so I would definitely recommend hiring a car / taking the bus which is every hour from the hotel.
10 minute drive from the airport, 15 minute drive to St Hellier. The staff went above and beyond to help with whatever they could, great atmosphere and a lovely choice at breakfast.

United KingdomDue to the time of the year the evening menu didn’t change and became a little repetitive. Similarly, the usual breakfast buffet was not available and breakfast was limited with some of the usual buffet choices not available. Breakfast was served directly to our table, whereas we prefer the choice of the buffet
Lovely contemporary bedrooms. Relaxing lounge area with open fire. While meal choices were restricted, the food itself was very good.
