The heated towel in one of our rooms was cold, and the shower was lukewarm.

It has lovely old charm feel to the place. The location was wonderful. There was just one member of staff that seemed to have the attitude that we were an inconvenience, which is a shame, because everyone and everything else was lovely

Been to this hotel a few times before, it's a very nice hotel but the reception staff are a bit unhelpful and miserable.

The decor of the bedroom area looked a bit dated (old fashioned) compared to the newly refurbished bathroom. There was only one chair despite there being space for 3 people to sleep and ample space for an additional one, rather than one of us having to perch on the bed. (We didn't bother asking as we were only there overnight). The woman on reception claimed that they had upgraded us to a sea view room, however I had actually already requested this when making the initial booking and paid extra for that - the actual payment taken at the hotel was more than expected considering that they claimed we'd been given a free upgrade and parking was supposedly free for guests?!

The room was large and we had a great sea view (which I had paid extra for). The bathroom looked as if it had been recently refurbished with new fixtures and fittings - excellent shower and pleased to see that the toiletries supplied were eco-friendly. The room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Staff seemed friendly enough (though we didn't really have much interaction other than booking in & checking out). As we were visiting a friend we didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food.

Excellent breakfast. Polite, efficient and friendly staff. Very interesting collection of pictures. Had a problem with our radiator which was swiftly dealt with. Nice atmosphere.

There should be an adult only lounge where older guests can relax/rest and read in peace. The children who were staying with their families were “allowed” to run in and out of the seating areas making too much noise much to the annoyance of older guests (of whom we were two - and we have 9 grandchildren!). We were looking forward to a grandchild-free w/e but felt like the grandchildren had followed us to LCH. All we really wanted was a child-free lounge with arm-chairs/sofas to recline in and read our books with a nice cup of tea! Apart from this one thing our w/e was really good. Please address this in time for our next visit - many thanks - Pete Maxwell

Breakfast was really good. Set me up for the day walking & enjoying the sea air. Room was good bed was comfortable. Service was cheerful and bright.

Quite dated decor and furnishings. Our room didn’t have air con and was too hot, and the bed was too hard for my partner - who couldn’t sleep. Price of drinks and food was also too high, even given the hotel’s situation.

Facilities were amazing, staff were friendly and the location was fantastic.

It wasn't made clear at the time of booking that there would be a £4 surcharge effectively for car parking as I was booking through a 3rd party whereas directly through the hotel would have given free parking. It's like choosing a restaurant based on its menu in the window only to be told subsequently that you'll be charged for using a plate. Highly dubious!
