We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomNot many vegetarian/vegan food options on the menu but we suspect they would have accommodated us if we had asked. The road might trouble some people, but we had earplugs, so no problem! There wasn’t any aircon and the weather was unusually muggy, so we bought a fan at the supermarket and had a very comfortable night.

This is a great, little known, hotel. It is named after a local family one of whom was a mentor of Lord Nelson and there are prints relating to this in one of the dining rooms. The owner is knowledgeable about this. The staff are very friendly. The chef is excellent particularly the lamb chops are superb. Some of the bedrooms are very spacious with a sofa as well as normal bedroom furniture. Ample sized car park. Well stocked bar with a variety of gins. Ideally situated to visit Muncaster and Ravenglass and anywhere along the Cumbrian southern coast from Whitehaven to Millom and the western fells

Good food and huge portions for dinner (which is appreciated if you are hiking in the area during the day). Good breakfast as well. Good base location for hiking in Scafell Pike area.

United KingdomLong windy drive to the property can put off people travelling from far. Can’t fault the services provided.
It is a lively place especially for hikers wanting to climb scafell Pike . It is nice and tidy, kept very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. I didn’t get a chance to have a meal from their kitchen but seems to be popular with guests.

United KingdomNoting that the hotel was situated besides a road I requested a quiet room. The hotel emailed me that a room was available that would be quiet. From 5am in the morning it was impossible to sleep the traffic noise was so continuous and loud even with the window closed. At £80 for a single bed room I think most would find that unacceptable.
