On arrival we were upgraded to a wonderful apartment next door. We had originally booked 2 rooms. The apartment was well equipped, comfortable and large enough for 4 adults, plenty of tea coffee and milk. The attention to detail was excellent,beautifully decorated throughout. We hadn’t booked breakfast, however decided on the morning we would like breakfast which did not disappoint and reasonably priced.

Nothing to dislike really honestly I would definitely be back again!

It was lovely place not to far from town centre. Would definitely stay here again. The room was lovely and big. Just really a nice place to stay the staff are friendly.

We were unexpectedly upgraded to the apartments at Derwent House, where the decor and facilities were exceptional. The staff went out of the way to be helpful. Always smiling and willing to help. They made us feel like valued customers. Breakfasts were fab too!

There wasn't a single negative thing about our stay.

The hotel was immaculately clean, very comfy bed, hot powerful shower, plenty of tea/coffee supplies, friendly helpful staff and the breakfasts were 10/10 amazing! Location was great too.

Being an attic room it was extremely hot, but we were having a heatwave in September! Had fan though.

We were upgraded from the Maynard to Roundtree Lodge, the sister hotel around the corner. Modern decor, looks like it may have been recently redecorated. Room clean and comfortable, although very hot! But, we did have a fan. Excellent breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location near the Esplanade, so a short walk to restaurants, etc.

I honestly cannot think of one thing that could have been better!!! Was amazing from start to finish.

The reason we answered No to meeting the expectation of what we paid for our break is because we were very kindly upgraded and the apartment we were given was above and beyond what we had paid! We were very lucky indeed.

Slight issue with only one of the sash windows opening and not enough for us as we like the room cool. Otherwise lovely room.

We booked into the Maynard but we’re upgraded on check in so not sure what it was like. We stayed at Rowntree Lodge around the corner and it was a lovely spacious room. Very comfortable large bed and good amenities. We didn’t pay for breakfast as it was only 8-9am, but downstairs becomes a cafe after 9am so we had breakfast there at a time that suited us. Very nice it was too!

Absolutely nothing.

We were ungraded to accommodation at the neighbouring property of Derwent House , a two bedroomed apartment which was superb and very welcome for our last two days of walking the Cleveland Way.

Nothing - it was all perfect.

We were actually upgraded from the Maynard to one of their apartments next door as some of the hotel rooms were having electrical problems. I can't actually say much anything the hotel as we were never in it, but the apartment was superb - beautifully furnished and it had everything provided that you could possibly want. We went from thinking we were going to be sharing a twin room to having a room each and bathroom each. We had breakfast about 50 yards away in another property they owned and it was 10/10 for quality and variety.

we stayed in Darwent House Apartments Which is part of the Maynard, 14 of us in total and I have to say if you ever get a chance to stay there, as Claire the owner told me, you wont be disappointed and we wasn`t, all I can say is its perfect, and we will be back

Shelly the main reception lady couldn't do enough for us, the Maynard was exceptionally clean with the perfect location for what we needed. Fantastic price considering it was a popular weekend in Scarborough.

We didn’t actually stay at The Maynard, so can’t say what it was like. I’ve rated where we stayed. The host moved us to the sister property across the road. That is where we would have gone for breakfast anyway . Room was comfortable & well equipped
