Only slight niggle water came out under shower screen.

The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Liked the Brodie’s tea bags. And Scottish soaps. Continental breakfast was very good. Staff friendly. Bonus leaving bags for couple of hours.

The location of the hotel was perfect. You’re not even a five minute walk from Waverley. The room was more spacious than we imagined and the staff were very friendly. Carlton Hill is next to it for perfect views of Edinburgh. Don’t miss the restaurant Howies on the corner, best food we ate in Edinburgh! We will definitely be back!

The mattress was all foam, that swallows you, no firm support for the body. The sofa was a sofa bed, slanty low cushions. The armchair was hard, as was alk the seating in the foyer. Tartan scstter cushions not necessary, please focus on getting supportive mattresses, dump those cheap foam ones! All the dark wood was heavy, the desk chair was very old. Breakfast costs 18.50 extra, so the room is not as cheap as you think.

Great central location, close to bus tours, airport bus etc, in city centre. I booked it for comfort and classic look. Gorgeous wet room bathroom, very clean. Great lighting, but you can't switch it off from one side.

The hotel is very well located. It's just off Regents Road at Calton Hill and is very quiet, especially considering how central it is. Bedrooms are comfortable and the interior design is subtly 'Scottish' without being twee.

Lovely hotel but don’t book the twin room if separate beds needed.

My friend and I booked a twin room however the two single beds were pushed together. Although each bed had separate duvets, the only blanket was laid across both beds. We were able to separate the beds slightly but was limited due to the bed side furniture. If you book a twin room, you expect two separate beds with separate bedding. If both of us had needed the blanket, we would have had to push both beds together. Luckily we are good friends otherwise it could have been very awkward.

    Excellant location, beautiful rooms

The twin beds had very soft mattresses which dipped down a lot and ended by giving me a sore back. The facilities are not modern and the shower curtain meant water over the floor.

Location was excellent. Buses close by, very quiet and very friendly staff.

I would have preferred an extra blanket as the heating goes off at a certain time for the rest of the night and only would come back on at 6am. The out of season weekday fee is overly expensive considering that it comes with only basic facilities. One still has to pay an extra £16 for breakfast which I feel is way over priced.

The hotel is very central, easy to find and close to all amenities as within walking distance from the castle, train station, good restaurants, shopping mall and much more. The en-suite room was lovely, bright and spotless and bed very comfortable. The foyer is warm and cosy with a fire going and has a nice sitting area.

Lovely Overnight Stay near the Playhouse

I didn't mind, but I would like to warn anyone with mobility issues. It wasn't communicated when I booked, but upon check in I learned I had to go up a few flights of stairs, go to the end of a hall, then down another few flights of stairs to reach my room.

I booked this hotel for one night. I popped over from Glasgow to see a show at the Playhouse. The location was extremely convenient for my purposes.
