Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe water pressure in the showers on the top floor was not good, but otherwise the bathrooms were fine. If coming by car, parking is a bit of a challenge. The hotel has an arrangement with a long stay car park at a reduced fee of £10 per day - fine once you find it!
The staff at the hotel were wonderful - very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We were a group of friends and all of our single rooms were very comfortable. Freshly cooked breakfast each morning was excellent and dinner on our first night was also very good. The hotel is very central - lots to see and do within walking distance, and cabs readily available for those who couldn't face the uphill return. I recommend reading the book "The Prince Rupert Hotel" telling their experience of housing the homeless during the first Covid lockdown

United KingdomThe breakfast was disappointing but didn't make my overnight stay less enjoyable. A new head chef has recently been appointed and no doubt some changes will result.
Excellent location. Lovely room overlooking adjacent church. Well equipped and welcoming. A problem with the television was quickly remedied and Reception desk staff were friendly and helpful. Not many hotels offer a welcome glass of sherry on arrival, a nice touch. There is parking available in a nearby location - a bit tricky to locate initially due to the one-way streets but in better location than public car parks and probably more secure.

United KingdomVery dated and worn out bedroom furniture, tired bathroom. Attention to detail was poor (dirt in room, no toilet rolls). Restaurant furniture also very worn. Coming from London and spending £200 for 2 rooms for 1 night this was very surprising.
Great location for our onward travel needs. Extremely helpful staff from reception desk through to restaurant, but a tad Faulty Towers in the restaurant. Food was very good.

United KingdomOne member of staff was slightly officious, which is unlike the other members of staff, who are very helpful and friendly.
The twin room was lovely - we have stayed in it before. The breakfast is fantastic, with a huge cooked and cold selection. Location in the centre of Shrewsbury is great.

United KingdomUnfortunately the night I arrived for a three night stay the lift motor shorted out. This continued over the weekend. My room was on the second floor and as I have an arthritic hip getting up and down was a bit uncomfortable. No-ones fault just not quite the best.
The room was comfortable though rather warm. I think the heating was still on winter setting. Given that I was on a singing weekend at two venues the location could not have been better. Staff were friendly and helpful

Lovely hotel, checking in staff very welcoming (sorry can't recall his name, tall gent with glasses) attentive. Room beautiful, room 3, very comfortable bed, clean. Lovely bar area that you could relax in.
