Stayed for 1 night for a work trip. Room was very clean and tidy. Staff very helpful and even printed off some paperwork I needed for work. Will stay again if I’m working in the area. Room was nice and warm. So much so I turned the radiator down and opened the windows. Nice complaint to have.

No vegan menu options, so I had to eat foods with cheese which I try avoid. The cleaner didn't speak to me even when I said hello. Overall the staff were aloof, but once engaged, adequately efficient.

The rooms were tidy and clean. Good priced drinks at the bar.

Bar doesn't open till 3pm (we were attending a wedding), they closed restaurant on night of wedding without mentioning to guests but luckily my partner and I were added onto the wedding party table but not really the point. Could do with new mattress in room as springs not so good. Disappointing really

Being told abruptly to wait to check in even though we were only 5 minutes early! Very pedantic attitude!! Creaking floorboards. No hot water. Television came on unaided in the night disturbing sleep. No WiFi.

We couldn’t have a table for diner although we got there half an hour before the restaurant closed, arriving tired after a very long drive from the south of England. Reason given was they were short staffed but there were very few guests in the restaurant.

It's a little out of town, further than you might want to walk. There was refrigeration plant within ear-shot running all night and it was warm enough to need a window open.

The hotel was basically fine, but just lacking the 'wow' factor. They are used to accommodating bikes, which spent the night in the ball room.

The breakfasts exceeded our expectations. The room we had was very good. The evening meals were very good. The Manager was very friendly. There was ample free parking. There was a large outdoor area available for drinking if required.

I would have liked the bar to be open as when getting ready for wedding there wasn't drinks available . I understand they don't open till 3 but when there's people there for wedding times should change .

The hotel was lovely on a whole, just a little disappointed with the shower as there was no power to it. The sheets on the bed didn’t fit properly and kept coming off.

Unfortunately we arrived in the middle of a heatwave and the rooms were very very hot. I did have a fan but it’s was still not a great nights sleep.

Nothing bad, just a little quirky. The rooms had been refurbished and needed some pictures.

The young staff were very competent and efficient, but quite strict! We were summoned to dinner (which was fine) and served quickly. It felt like an old hotel that was being transformed into a good hotel in the eventual process of being excellent.
