Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Paid Parking only. Available on the street or in a large CarPark relatively close to the hotel.
The Regent House Hotel was clean and comfortable and in a great location. Walkable to restaurants, The Royal Mile etc

The stairs are a wee bit steep but nothing can be done as it’s the style of building.

Having trouble accessing the building. Also could do with providing more milk especially with 4 adults in room.

There’s no lift.
Proximity to the tram. Very easy to reach the city centre and airport. There’s a nearby Tesco Express for your grocery needs, as well as cafe and restaurants few meters away from the hotel. The room was really clean, though small. Bathroom is huge and clean also, with shampoo, shower gel and hand soap. Towels smell nice. Perfect for solo travelers. I felt really safe in the area.

There was no other way to access drinking water then the bathroom wash basin. We had to fill water from wash basin and boil it using kettle. The charging sockets were not easily accessible as well they were far behind the table and we had to find it before. The shower area was quite small.
The room was quite good for 4 people. It was also in between the city was a good location.

The bathroom would randomly have dead bugs on the shower floor, which I had to clean up. Also, when they "made up" my room" they didn't really make the bed at all which wasn't that necessary just surprisingly unprofessional.
The room was spacious, particularly the bathroom. The hotel is also well located and relatively clean.

Firstly the bathroom was quite cold despite the warmth from the hot towel rail. There was a continual draft from the bottom of the window. Secondly my first two nights were quiet and peaceful, but on the third night I was woken up at 1.00 am by quite a few noisy people in the building and I was unable to get back to sleep till after 3.00 am.
The hotel is in an excellent location. Considering the location, it is well priced and good value. The room was clean and tidy.

Be prepared for a lot of stairs. Beds aren't the comfiest and move around on wheels. Shower is really small. Beds weren't made every morning and towels weren't always replaced.
Good location, clear instructions for check-in. Staff were helpful. Close to tram for airport.

I didn’t get there till around 1am and I made the booking while on the train up from London. I had been sent all the information needed to get me in the front door also to get the key to the room.
