The breakfast was amazing! Lovely fruit/yoghurt to start with followed by a full English breakfast, tea/coffee/toast, certainly sets you up for the day! Kippers/omelette/poached cod - all were very tasty. Pastries were fresh, the whole breakfast experience was excellent, with fantastic service. The location of the hotel is perfect, with the promenade/beach opposite, couldn't wish for a better position. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, special shout to to Anthony, the doorman, who was very attentive every time he saw my elderly mother. Waiters/housekeeping/front desk, all made the stay comfortable and special, thank you.

United KingdomThe heat in our room! Even with the heating off and the windows wide open it didn’t cool down until about 4am. I heard the heating come on again at 6am so I’m guessing it would be roasting again later. Must cost the hotel a fortune!

The Riviera is a lovely large hotel on the seafront at Sidmouth. Very good location. The staff are very polite, helpful and friendly. The facilities are excellent, Molton Brown toiletries and I spent a very comfortable night there.

I cannot remember when I have experienced such amazing service at a hotel. The Riviera is absolutely spotless and impeccably decorated. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom huge with Molton Brown complimentary shower gels etc, what a treat! I was greeted at the door by the concierge and shown to my room, made me feel genuinely so welcome - what a lovely hotel :)

United KingdomAs I have mobility problems I found the bed low and soft. Also the shower over the bath was difficult to manage. However, I recognise that for most people there would not be a problem.
Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Plentiful, well presented and of a high standard. Bar, dining room and lounge were very comfortable. All the staff were pleasant and helpful and a credit to the hotel.
