Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There was no bathroom downstairs
The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating! They are making an effort to embrace environmentally friendly practices in the hotel.

You're asked not to have alcohol in your room but when we got back the bar was closed - bit of a disappointment. Was difficult to watch TV from bed, but not impossible.
Pleasant room, excellent breakfast, staff we did meet were lovely. Very good location - if you book direct you can get parking - we didn't know that but the railway station was amazingly cheap.

I'd struggle to find anything I didn't like.
Very well run hotel, obviously well loved by it's owners and clientele alike. Excellent breakfast, set me up for the day. great location and amazing view from the lounge. Friendly, well run and comfortable.

We're genuinely unfussy eaters, but the breakfast needed a bit more work. But you can make your own mind up as other reviews have said it was great. Lack of parking is a pain, but we were able to park on the prom, and weekend parking is free between 1600 and 1000.
We had room 7, ground floor, great view but next door to the small bar/dining room. So there is some noise which is to be expected. Room 7 had good shower facilities, the dressing and wardrobe area is a good idea. Nice bath robes provided. The security on the sash windows needs addressing. Previous reviews have highlighted this. A slatted room divider screens off a small seating area set in the large bay window area. Bed was very comfortable and firm. A small fridge is provided. Two televisions in such a small space is probably overkill. Staff were welcoming, courteous and attentive. They are a great asset to this small hotel.

Bed was a bit small . Shower was small too . But over all everything was fine . Would have liked more toast and tea with breakfast but didn’t like to ask as staff seemed busy .

Room a little smaller than I expected, no fridge for water or milk etc.
The team are so friendly, breakfast is beautiful ,staff work hard to make sure all meets your requirements.

Checkin time is 4pm. Rather late. We have to kill time to make sure we wouldn’t arrive before 4. No parking! Not as advertised on Booking.com. It’s only by reading the reviews now that I realised why they wouldn’t let us use their parking spaces : No to ALL Booking.com customers! I think that’s not fair. They could have charged us separately, such as not included in the room price. Very inconvenient indeed.
Neat and tidy. Nice seaview from our room window. It’s not too far to walk into town centre, around 10 minutes to popular restaurants. The cleaning ladies are nice and helpful.

Room and bathroom small. However, for the price it was perfect for a one night stay.
