Swimming pool was nice although one of the regulars was quite rude taking over the pool not leaving space to swim for anyone else, and made it known. Problems in the bedroom with tv and lighting not working, told maintenance had left at 5 pm, a receptionist kindly came up and sorted tv but not lights.

Breakfast was lovely, staff very accommodating to our specific requirements.

it was great for us as a couple, but not great for kids. was asked ask our son to 'reign it in' as he was effecting the other guests, i was keeping a close eye on him and noone batted an eyelid, however i do understand it was a spa hotel ar and not a creche. the other part that i wasnt too happy about was the hotel is advertised as a spa hotel, howver if you book thru booking dot com you have to psy extra for the spa, and the kids are onle able to book a 45 min slot ar certain times of the day. so for a family of 3 to use the pool for 45 mins it costs 10 per person....however this is per stay.... so if you have 3 nights booked you could book 2x45min sessions each day for the same money. it probably says all this in the small print however i looked at the photos... saw it had a pool and thought tbatll do the little man will love that, we arrived 6pm got him ready for the pool only to be told hes not allowed in.... our own fault for not reading the fine print but again.... would be nice to have reception explain the rules to us just to ensure we dont have a screaming kid.

hotel was clean and the spa facilities, the pool etc was great for the little one!

We didn't know that we had a £25 budget at mealtimes, we assumed that dinner and breakfast was a typical set menu. When I booked it mentioned nothing about the budget. Also the spa was a let down, we had to pay £10 per person to use the pool. I tried to book some treatments but was told I should have booked them 5 days in advance, again no mention of this when I booked.

We liked the comfy rooms and the food was lovely.

Very odd layout, our room was quite a walk along corridors and completely at the end in a corner - the wifi was appalling and although free I would expect as it was offered for it to be considerably better than this. We had come early and I was expecting to get several tasks done which took longer because of this. A lot of the hotel seems to still be in need of modernisation so a funny mix. Signposting on getting from one end ot another could be slightly improved. Lighting was poor in the room, dim and also only one plughole. As ever as seems to be common in most hotel rooms there was not a plug, mirror and light within the vicinity of each other - such a simple thing to get right. There was a lot of space but only one chair provided at the little table so appeared ike one was missing - a shame because would have been perfect to watch the TV.

Staff were lovely, breakfast was excellent. Parts of the hotel very modern and it does have a pool and spa but that is charged as extra if you have not booked directly with the hotel - not an issue just something to be aware of. Convenient location and worked for us as we were attending an event there. Bathroom was huge and lots of storage room

There was no remote for my TV and despite calling Reception for one - it never arrived. The other annoying issue was that i had to run the taps for over 10 mins to get anything like warm water. Was looking forward to a bath so that was vetoed and the shower the next day was a brisk cold effort :(

Room was great, Breakfast amazing and bed comfy. Staff were great.
