Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomGreat view but couldn't open the window and I can understand that for safety as the room is at street level. So to let air in from time to time we had to leave the main door open for a few minutes.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Clarendon. We stayed in the Smugglers Cabin. It was very clean and had all the things we needed. Great view and we met some staff, they were very helpful in answering our questions. Lovely place, would book again.

United KingdomWhat The Clarendon offers is very good but obviously it doesn’t offer facilities such as breakfast. However there are places nearby such as the excellent cafe at the end of the pier.
Lovely room and the staff were helpful and friendly

United KingdomThe chorus of seagulls that went off before my alarm could have been quieter but I blame nature not the hotel. Needs a little TLC in areas but it was being decorated as I was there so you can tell owners making real efforts. I am being picky - really couldn't fault the place.
Lovely little spot and just perfect as a base camp whilst working in the area. Rooms were comfy and clean with plenty of tea and a coffee. Could not fault it. It was what I was after and very fairly priced. It doesn't do food but lots of great places within 100 yards in any direction.

United KingdomNo breakfast is a minus, no facilities except the room itself, though that’s clearly communicated. Though the rooms are lovely, the rest of the hotel is dated and faded, though I guess as there’s nothing to do in the hotel it doesn’t matter too much.
The location is one of the best in Deal, right on the sea front. It’s affordable and the rooms themselves are great.

United KingdomNothing major but the flush in the WC was fiddly and took some getting used to.
Excellent communication right from the time the trip was booked to the checkout. The staff were as lovely in person as they were on email. The room was spacious and quaint (with a ledge by the bay windows, overlooking the beach), well-maintained, and the amenities were top-notch (a Nespresso machine in the room, bottled water). Check In and checkout was easy because it was all done online and via a key code. A special shout-out to Orla (I hope I got the spelling right) for always greeting us with a smile and some lovely conversations.

CroatiaNoise from upstairs rooms, would also have been good to be able to open the window more than a crack to let in some fresh air.
Great location and good to find a ground-floor room with a water view from the sitting room. Nicely designed suite with above-average-sized bathroom.
