Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious but expensive. If we stay again we would go out to dinner. Steep stairs were difficult for our elderly mother.
The property is an old house with quirky modern interiors. The bedroom had beautiful soft furnishings. The shower was great with lovely quality soaps and hair products. Loved the Dyson hairdryer and Nespresso machine. Also loved the snack cupboard and cookie when we left. Breakfast was excellent. Staff really friendly.

United KingdomI felt charging £20 a night for the car park when it was part of the hotel's own land and was not open to non residents left a sour taste. We ended up paying £60, which added 10% to our bill. If they changed this to no charge, or at a push a more reasonable amount, there would have been nothing I could write here as there was nothing I didn't like.
Really lovely staff and a very warm and informative welcome from Ellen. Comfortable lounge with complimentary soft drinks and sweets was a nice touch. Nice to have fresh milk on hand for tea and coffee in the room without having to ask. Easy 10 minutes walk into Bath. Lovely views from our room over the cricket pitch to the Abbey. Breakfast was well cooked and delicious, generous amounts of coffee. The bed was comfy and the shower was really good. Towels were amazing - big and thick.

United KingdomI had the best time at the Bird Hotel!!! the room, facilities, cleanliness, everything matched my expectations. the food though - WAS AMAZING. I would recommend the steak - I had it both nights I stayed there. They have a wide range of mocktails as well, my personal favourite was the flamingo mocktail. What made the entire stay 10 times better was the staff - so kind, friendly, helpful and attentive. Camillia, Harmony and team, thank you for making my stay such a great one. Will definitely be coming back!!!! xx

United KingdomI didn’t stay for long enough. I did find it hard to find as I hadn’t been to Bath before. Maybe a Roadside sign
I liked the location, friendliness, cleanliness and how we were treated in every part of the Hotel from Breakfast to the Bar. Receptionist Camillia gave us an upgrade to Abbey King No 22 as it was my Wife’s Birthday

United KingdomThere was nothing that we didn't like . But bear in mind if you book the Diddy double . It is what it says on the tin so to speak . But that doesn't mean that there was anything wrong with it very clean and had all that you needed in it
It was a lovely stay . From start to finish . A phone call the day before to make sure that they didn't need to know anything before we arrived . When we were there they were so helpful and we friendly . Lovely touches. Such as a whole snack shelf with sweets fruit . Soft drinks water . Fresh milk for your room for the tea and coffee . We had the breakfast which had a lovely menu and tasted just as good . The freshly made yoghurt was the best item tasted . Then to top things off when we checked out they offered us water to take with us a a bag of freshly made cookies. A really nice end to a very nice stay . Would 💯 %stay there again .
