Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere are no ground-floor rooms and the hotel is run from the cellar bar, so it involves a lot of steep stairs, which is a bit tricky for elderly people ... but that's a little hard to resolve in a 16th century building. At least the staff tried to help by moving us from the second floor to the first floor.
Service was great - all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Meals were great - breakfast cooked to order, so nice and fresh.

Room was lovely. View of gardens and sea. Breakfast was great. Lovely quiet location. Also near Abbotsbury Swannery.

Write your review We spent three nights here. What a find! Chosen partly for the views and outside space, which didn't disappoint. (Blessed with dry weather). Milly and the team were all great. Professional, courteous and attentive. We dined in every night, as the food was delicious. Probably the best Moules I have ever had (and I've had a few!) and the Pork Tomahawk steak was delicious. We loved the charm of the building itself, lots of character. A great spot to explore the local area, away from the hustle of the

United KingdomWe were not aware that only one room was dog friendly out of the two we booked, so the kids ended up looking after the dog in their room! Best to be informed before booking. Small thing, and everything else was fab
Delicious breakfast! We couldn’t sit in the breakfast room which had stunning views as we had a dog so sat in the dining room at the back. But staff were really attentive and it was absolutely fine.

United KingdomWe booked a sea view room & didn't realise we were in the attic with a small window not at eye level. We would have liked to have eaten in the restaurant in the evening but found the prices a little high for residents.
Gorgeous location & the house had lots of character. Very comfortable bed & lovely breakfast.

United KingdomThe slightly unusual arrangement of the sugar not being on the breakfast table was strange as was the apparent lack of sweetener, but this was explained and indeed once explained did seem sensible. I would however suggested the sweetener tablet dispensers as against packet sweetener which still solves one part of the reasoning.
The cooked part of breakfast was of reasonable proportion, the continental part was plentiful and looked fresh every day. The evening meals when we had them were again of reasonable proportion and did leave you feeling full, but overly full. The choices of cooked foods was excellent as was the standard of cooking. Each course was presented in a timely manner, but not rushed.

United KingdomRoom 9. Had bright outside light. Just outside the bathroom window. Even with the window blind closed. Due to the bathroom door being etch glass. This made the bedroom very bright. Struggled to sleep. Just needs simple black out blind on the bathroom door.
