The receptionist was kinda uncommunicative, but could be due to the language barrier. The room and its contents were old. TV didn't work.

Pretty building and area, good bartender.

For the price we paid we obviously weren’t expecting a 5-star experience, however being part of the Hydro chain I was expecting a better standard of finishing touches. Cosmetically, the hotel could do with a lot of renovation. The lift was very small for getting a buggy up to our room, the doors use keys instead of cards which are difficult to juggle with a toddler, the paint was peeling off around our doorframe inside the room, the shower curtain was discoloured and smelled, and the lockers in the leisure centre need a £1 coin for locking instead of an electronic key fob like most places nowadays (especially if you don’t carry cash). Also, our mattress was rock hard - while some people prefer a firmer mattress, for us it lead to an uncomfortable nights sleep and our backs and necks have been sore since checking out.

After a long day of driving, the location off the A9 was ideal for breaking up our journey. The garden and short walk to town was great for walking our dog and little boy to burn off energy, and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. We arrived late and didn’t have much time for dinner in the restaurant, so the staff were kind in allowing us to bring in a takeaway from the local Chinese. After a lot of driving, they the staff also kindly allowed us a later check-out the following day which gave us a chance to unwind and enjoy the pool, sauna and jacuzzi before the next leg of our trip.

Some areas a bit tired/ dated/ in need of maintenance.

Pool/ spa. Location was handy for our needs. Convenient for Pitlochry shops, bars, restaurants. Ben Vrackie a good walk for those who are able. Staff are an asset here. Breakfast was fine. Bar food on offer too.

The decor/carpet was a bit tired, but from other comments the hotel is in the process of being improved. The toilet was too close to a boxed in pipe so it made it harder to use the handle, which may be tricky if there are mobility issues. . The bathroom could do work a refresh but these issues are reflected in the price of the room

The pool was nice, the room was quiet and comfortable. Overall it was clean (although there was a used plaster on the bedside table)

Shower was a bit poor, no pressure but could I take a shower ? Yes The hotel is a 10-15 walk from main part of centre, and it's a incline , if you have mobility issues .this is not the best choice of hotel for you unless you have a car.

Staff were lovely. We had a last minute cancellation as a member of the family had an accident and they refunded their room in full which was very kind. Food is great, it's not 5 star fine dining but you aren't paying 5 star prices. Areas of the hotel are being modernised and we stayed in a newer room which was fresh and clean and tidy. This a dog friendly hotel and we enjoyed saying hi to lots of furry friends. Unfortunately we weren't able to use the pool on this occasion but it looked great. We will definitely be back.

Some of the decor is a little tired, but for the price, this didn't detract from the hotel's charm.

We felt the rooms could do with being upgraded and updated. Bathroom needs upgrading. The windows and curtains are needing replaced and the furnishings could also be renewed. The leisure facilities were nice but again in need of upgrading! Towels in swimming area would be better than using room towels. Spa facilities would be a great option for guests, facials, massage etc! Hydro is a great venue however could be better with a total overhaul and upgrade.

We liked the location and we liked the layout of the hotel. The bar and restaurant were very spacious.
