Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The bathroom facilities. The shower was too small and the door was broken. The water pressure needs and shower facilities need improving overall. The bathroom had a strong smell of disinfectant. However, the room did not smell and was a good size and well-presented. It was very clean.
Beautiful location, friendly and knowledgable staff, who went out of their way to accommodate our requests. Fantastic customer service. The food was excellent. We ended up having all of our meals at the hotel rather than venturing out, as the food and service was so good. The home made pies were some of the best we've eaten! The desserts were incredible.

Nothing to complain about. Everything was great. Very good all round.
Very comfortable room. Clean and spacious. Bathroom spotless and well ventilated. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good indeed.

Nothing bad enough to mention.
Serves up great food both for breakfast and dinner. Staff always ready and willing to help. Rooms are typical for the type of building, irregular shapes and sizes, but comfortable and always a good night’s sleep.

The member of staff (female) who ignored us when trying to check in on Saturday afternoon, more interested in gossiping about another staff member Only one chair in room, which was big enough for two.
Very clean bedroom, great choice on menus, and well cooked food. With the exception of the one staff member mentioned below, all other staff were welcoming and very friendly.

I would have appreciated a non slip shower mat and a box of tissues in the bathroom. The room I was in was quirky - a sloping roof which meant I had to duck when going from the door around the bed, fine for me (I'm 5'7") but might not have suited a taller person.
Lovely location, free parking, friendly, caring staff, delicious breakfast . I would certainly book there again.

Very friendly staff. Carly is a charming owner and the two young men on the bar were delightful and very courteous. Good cooked breakfast choices.

It was seasonally very cold -3 in the night and the radiator in the room did struggle a bit to keep the chill off the room, but we snuggled up and we slept very well but going forward a back up oil radiator might be an idea to put in the room just for when it’s really cold.
The breakfast was top notch! We enjoyed our time here very much even with a mid evening service power cut. The staff where excellent and we have confidence that the food is good so we are returning for Sunday lunch 🙂

Restaurant closes at 8.30. Should have read Instructions in room. Expected it to close at 9. Still the MacDonalds was a cheap meal
