Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A large fan and ducting making sleep difficult (I think it was probably the kitchen). It was rather loud in the room despite windows being closed ( without my hearing aids!). When booking, it may be worth asking about this to avoid it.
Good polite and pleasant staff, clean. Excellent location for town centre. Nice comfy firm bed. It had a great streetside outdoor seating area which would be great in summer. Excellent buffet breakfast. Good value.

The bar is franchised out so the staff there are not incentivised to keep hotel guests happy , especially towards the end of evening service.
We love the location which is good for bars , restaurants and shops. The biggest draw is the secure off road parking .

Lack of friendly check-in.
Nice compact room with ensuite, furnished well and in a good location. Reception check in could have been more friendly. Bar and restaurant, but didn't try either this time, although both were busy.

It was quite dark and the room was overly warm. Would benefit from ‘AC’. The “hover” buttons on the lift were quite annoying.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was ideal for the centre. Restaurant was on the ball with service.

The room was very small but it did have a good sized bathroom. It wasn't a problem for 1 night but if we were staying longer we would have liked more space for storing clothes and cases. The bed was comfy though and we weren't disturbed by outside noises Also there was ample parking at the hotel but it wasn't freely available. It feels like hotels are adopting the budget airline approach to booking
The hotel had a warm, cosy feel to it and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. It's well located for accessing the town centre and the many eateries on Cold Bath Rd The adjoining pub had a nice atmosphere, and we were able to get a late lunch there easily. Because we had a late lunch, we didn't get to check out the dining room at night, but it did look like the hotel had created a lovely intimate setting for evening diners Breakfast was available and was cheaper to book in advance. It was the usual buffet-style cooked or cold choices. We had the cooked breakfast and it was very good. Nothing seemed to have been left to dry out or congeal unlike some breakfasts we've seen

The car park is a bit confusing, as it's connected to The Fat Badger restaurant and it's not clear whether or not that it's parking for the hotel.
Staff, facilities and restaurant were all great and much appreciated, but I wish Booking.com would take the option of 'location' off of their reviews, as it's not relevant. People choose where they want to stay, therefore is not relevant.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the White Hart. Great value for the money.
Staff were very attentive and went out of their way to be helpful. Room was lovely. Breakfast was really nice and realxing. Sometimes breakfast times can be a bit busy. It was a pleasure to stay at the White Hart.

Unfortunately we had to leave early hours of the morning, we were gutted. This meant that we missed the breakfast which was highly recommended to us. We hope to return sometime soon.
