Loud with workmen during our stay. Renovating commenced outside. Avocado on toast Breakfast was one very small slice with avocado.

Unfortunately we did not rate the food Cheeseburger very substandard Expected a real meat burger not frozen cheap one Chicken in a sauce was not very nice Sauce oily non descriptive It’s a shame as loved the hotel the pub had a lot of character because of the meal we didn’t have the breakfast

Service was to slow

Lovely little retreat but staff need to be a little more attentive, service was very slow. Room was comfortable and clean and food was really good.

The room was lovely, and great for a one night stay but as there were no windows with clear glass, I don't think I would want to stay more than one of two nignts.

The setting of the Wiremill was excellent. To have breakfast overlooking the lake watching the wildlife made a great start to the day. Bed was comfy and room was spotless.

When I was shown to my room (Bron) it hadn't been made up, the previous occupant's towels were strewn around, the bed wasn't made etc. Bearing in mind my arrival was just before 9pm there was no-one around to sort this out, but luckily there were alternative rooms so I did have somewhere to sleep. I'd chosen the original room as it was one of the larger rooms, the room I ended up with was smaller and darker. At the end of the day it wasn't a massive problem, I slept well and the room was comfy enough. I wasn't offered a discount for the error, but I did have prosecco and a cuppa on the house so I guess that evened things out.

I was impressed they called me beforehand to check if I needed dinner as the kitchen would be closed by my arrival time. Very thoughtful, and the food (butternut squash ravioli) was very tasty. Bedrooms are compact but well set out, nice, quirky decor. Very comfortable mattress. Great shower - once I worked out how to turn the temperature down! Breakfast the next day was generous, I had the full vegan, and it was lovely to enjoy this whilst overlooking the lake. The staff were all very cheerful and helpful. And young!

A shelf in the bathroom near the sink would be a good addition, as there's nowhere to put anything when using the shower/sink etc.

The room was warm and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were welcoming and friendly.

The toilet ran with water all night so didn’t get a lot of sleep .No one to call during night .The next morning the woman who was 🧼 my room told me how to stop it wish I had known .

My ravioli at dinner were a bit stale. My friend's meal was good but my main could have been nicer

it was so near to Gatwick, but a little oasis , comfortable, room really nice, great bed and bathroom, food in restaurant delicious, staff great, free parking, 20 minutes from airport
