Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room was in -1 floor, only stairs, no elevator
The hotel is very close to kings Cross station, and the price is good because of that, also sheets, towels and the room were clean

single room is a bit small but decent for the price, amenities and location
loved the location and the room was nice and cozy, very tidy and welcoming. plus, met koshka the hotel cat and she was so sweet! the staff were lovely too!

The stairs which was my own fault for not asking for a ground floor room Room was small as most are in that area however I'm being picky now
The staff who were more than staff went the extra mile assisting with directions assisting with luggage and just being friendly clean room lovely hot shower. nice and warm room. Thank you for the great stay

Very small en suite but, this was a last minute booking due to train cancellations. Décor is a little dated and carpet in the public areas/stairs is well worn.
The location is great, I have stayed in this area before. The price was very good value when most hotels in the area were creeping up the prices due to a signalling issue with the trains. The gentleman at reception was welcoming. As a last minute booking it was fine, bed was comfy, tea/coffee facilities were plentiful.

Rather snug room, for 2 adults, and no lift (only 1 floor to go though)

The rooms and beds are very small for 2 people. Would be nice to have some room options with 2 single beds. It is in a busy area so can be a bit noisy depending on where in the building you are and what's going on outside, but was to be expected.
Excellent, convenient location. Desk staff very helpful when we had questions. Rooms are clean. Easy check in and check out.

The weather wasn't brilliant, but (i) it was February, and (ii) there was nothing the hotel could have done about it anyway. To be honest, we couldn't fault the hotel. If you have mobility problems you might struggle with the stairs, but again, the Wardonia mentions this themselves.
If all you need is a bed for the night, a toilet and a shower, within very easy reach of Kings Cross or St Pancras Stations, the Wardonia is ideal. Rooms are small, but the hotel is very honest about this when booking, so that isn't a problem. Our room was very clean, with fresh bedding, clean shower and toilet, tea making facilities, and was as quiet as you'd expect a hotel in this location to be. The lack of breakfast and dining facilities, again something the hotel is open about, are not a problem, as there are plenty of options available within a few minutes' walk. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Large skylight in room, meaning day light came in very early and we were also woken with noise from workmen above us (not neccassarily the hotels fault) Mattress protectors very dirty and stained Would need to replace pillows and quilts also as they're stained and wore

The room was on the ground floor by the street, so sleeping there felt a bit exposed. The room to deposit luggage after check-in wasn't very secure.
Location near St. Pancras was amazing. Very easy to find and check in went easy and very fast. The room was all fine and clean. Very functional hotel.

There was some suspicious scraping noise in the wall, needed to change the rooms as our imagination was running wild (no problems with the switch) The bathroom was kinda damp The staff was very uneven - some very nice and some bordering on rude Squeaky beds
The location was great, if that is your priority i think it's amazing for the price WiFi worked with no issues No problems exchanging the room (see the dislikes section)

I still think the price is high for the amenities offered, but that is generally across the board in London.
Room was relatively small but cozy and clean. Staff were nice and attentive. We had a window towards the front of the hotel that brought in considerable light.

The room was very clean. The only slight issue in our room was that the shower smelled a little bit, it was to look at very clean, we thought it was maybe a sewer smell issue as a result of being on the ground floor.
The location is brilliant, very close to Kings Cross. The rooms were quite big, beds comfortable and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was very clean.
