Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNeed to be aware that there are lots of quite narrow stairs up to the rooms. Our ensuite shower room was slightly chilly as it didn't have heating. Local shops other than the Coop all seems to shut around lunchtime/early afternoon on Saturdays. No coffee shops open on Sundays.
Great location for a few days break with free parking at the hotel and in the nearby public carpark. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room clean and beds very comfortable. Great food in the restaurant and nice bar.

United KingdomBreakfast was too late (served from 9am). I ended up grabbing something from the nearby Coop (opens from 7am) and eating it in my room.
Great location, quirky historical building, friendly staff. Although their kitchen was closed for breakfast when I stayed, they gave me a ticket for free breakfast in the pub opposite.

United KingdomSome of the rooms could definitely still be improved - we did ask for one of the larger rooms when we booked, but sadly ours (no3) was quite small and dark. The shower was also rather poor - very low water pressure & temperature hard to control. The bathroom was down some quite steep steps which was nicely quirky, but a little precarious, especially at night. Cooked food options for breakfast would be welcome.
The downstairs refurb looks great (we’ve been here several times before as we have family living locally) and the hotel is in a good location, with a small amount of parking next to the hotel. Staff are very helpful & friendly. The bed was pretty comfy & breakfast, although simple, was nice.

United KingdomOur room no.1 was dark Light flickered on/off Shower unit made a winning water pressure sound due to unit being Only a 7 kw when a 10 kw unit would have addressed the issue. Bottom of shower tray kept falling off The wall underneath wooden plinth on back wall was flaking away on the floor needing attention. Plugs near mirror to use to blow dry hair was a three pin-would be better to have a new socket. We felt that the room was small/shabby for the price. Our comments were ment to be constructive & helpful. The pub was central to were we needed to be. The staff were excellent. Christmas Eve the pub & restaurant was full of people & Christmas parties the whole place was festive-a good vibe.we enjoyed our stay due to friendliness of staff who could not do enough for you. Rooms needs some TLC.
Excellent choice for cooked & continental breakfasts.

We loved the decor and cosiness of the public rooms and the welcoming, helpful attitude of the staff. Fresh coffee and continental breakfast in the pleasant dining room was very acceptable and dinner was delicious Our room had everything we needed, plus a spacious bathroom with a tub. United KingdomNot really a ‘didn’t like’ but in terms of improvements the room was comfy but a little dated decor wise without the cosy touches on show downstairs however the back of house areas seem to be in the process of a refresh so I get the impression things may be changing.
Really welcoming and hospitable staff both in evening and at breakfast. The bar and restaurant area were lovely and the straightforward cereal, toast, pastries breakfast was nicely done. Excellent value overall for the price we paid.
