In the reviews it talked about breakfast being available and how friendly the owner was but while we were there, there was no breakfast so that was a little disappointing. Also, the bed was very uncomfortable.

Nice sized room. Facilities were relatively clean. Front desk staff was nice. The hotel is located in a quiet more residential area. While this is nice, it also should be noted that it is a long walk up many stairs every time you want to go back-and-forth between the main harbor area.

The receptionist who answered the phone spoke absolutely no English so it was very difficult to organise donkeys to take our luggage to the guest house.

Would be great to have the washing machine and kitchen for guest use. Staff could be a bit more welcoming (a run down of recommendations etc would be nice).

The staff should have informed us about the ferry strike! Signs with the hotel name were all in Greek letters which made it difficult to find because it looks quite different to Theano.

Clean, quiet. Shop is very close, which is lucky because breakfast is no longer offered, contrary to the description. Luckily we could use an electric jug.

It is definitely a walk up a few stairs - but I knew this and was prepared to make the journey. I had asked for a double bed, I got two singles - which was fine, only minor!

Room was lovely and clean! Service was lovely. I was nervous the wifi wouldn't work based on reviews I read - it worked fine for me, I even managed to watch some netflix. When I arrived 4 hours early to store my luggage, my room was early and they let me check-in! The room was HUGE, extremely clean, the aircon was absolutely lovely and I felt comfortable and at home.

230 steps, although gradual, uphill to reach the guesthouse. Spotty wifi, we never did get connected.

The wifi didn't reach our room, but worked perfectly in the lovely garden. We didn't have any hot water during our stay (which would probably have been fixable had we mentioned it) and sometimes there was a slight sewer smell in the room. We didn't consider these big minuses and agreed that we had made a good choice of accommodation!

We had a nice 4-night stay in Hydra! Our room had its own garden entrance and we liked the location on the hill top - the climb is not too bad at all and the port, swim spots and restaurants are easy to reach on foot. There is even a minimarket a couple of small blocks away.

Quite a walk up stairs from the port, should of looked more into it before booking. It's a workout for sure especially with luggage to carry. The guesthouse itself reminded me of private hostel rooms, you can hear outside your window quite clearly and other the guests walk through the halls. Water was turned off for two hours on our last morning, but was resolved.
