Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceSome more storage would be appreciated. The bathroom is too small, the tap of the sink is too "vintage" ;) The music from the pub below is very loud. Though not so bothering. Fortunately, it occurs only on week-end evenings.
The guesthouse is very well located, a few steps away from the Liffey River, Trinity College and Temple Bar street. Many shops, coffee shops and restaurants just down the street. The main touristic sites are within foot reach. The room is clean, beds comfortable. The staff is so kind and helpful and efficient ! We ate breakfast twice at the Celtic lodge. It is a wonderful full Irish breakfast, served by lovely ladies. We had a great time there. The pub also serves good food, with good music, in an authentic Irish atmosphere.

United KingdomRooms are a little run down, bathroom was grubby with a piece of metal sticking out of the wall, which could be dangerous. Bed / pillow uncomfortable.
Great location with very helpful staff who gave brilliant recommendations. Cheap price for centre of Dublin. Perfect as a base, to get your head down and refresh before heading out in Dublin.

Loved the pubs right below, amazing food, amazing live music and lovely, cozy place to hang out. People are friendly and helpful in the reception and the pub and restaurant

United KingdomHotel had no lift and being on the second floor required climbing 8 flights of stairs with luggage. Room was advertised as "boutique" but this was not the case as plaster was peeling from the ceiling and no chair as advertised. The bathroom was poor with toilet seat cracked although this was fixed after advising reception. The sink had taps which were push down and didn't stay on, with no plug in sink making it hard to wash. The room was very small and the bed mattress was uncomfortably soft.Heating was hotel controlled and very cold in the night with no option to switch on during storm Kathleen!!.
Staff were fantastic and very helpful and knowledgeable. The location was good, bang in the centre of town near shops with a great traditional Irish pub underneath. Breakfast was lovely but felt a little rushed with the speed of the service.

GreeceThe room they gave me was 211. It was smelling really bad, so bad that I couldn’t stay inside. Smell when something is closed and there is no fresh air at all. First day reception gave me a fresh spray because all rooms were full. Also another bad thing is that there is a window but you can’t see outside because when you look outside it’s just walls ( it’s inside a pub) so there is no light from the sun at all.
Nice location, helpful staff

United StatesThey say they have parking, but it's not close to the hotel and you can't get your car before 8am on Saturday mornings, so it wouldn't have worked for our flight. Pretty annoying since we booked this hotel specifically because of the parking. Lesson learned.
The staff was nice, the room was comfortable, and it was close enough to popular sights.

United KingdomBed was absolutely awful to sleep in, there was what felt like a dip in the middle of the mattress. Pair of dirty socks in the corner of the room upon arrival. Shower head was not ideal and we had no hot water running tap.
Good location and good value for money. Short ten min walk from the main parts of Dublin so was great to walk back to in the evening. Staff were amazing, super friendly and helpful.

United Kingdom-Hot tap was scalding hot -one of the receptionists tried to charge us €15 for breakfast when a different receptionist had informed us it was €10 if you paid downstairs -Breakfast disappointing not much continental eg no fruit , yogurt and as a vegetarian the breakfast wasn’t worth the price paid I had (2 poached eggs i asked for , hash brown , baked beans , 2 tomato’s and toast). No mushrooms or extra beans, hash browns etc
-Central location , right next to O’Connell street, luas stops , and a pub that is great craic and plays live music every night. -Blackout blinds, rooms small but homely , cleaned every day, complimentary tea and I slept well each night. -warm shower
