Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Smallest thing, but the lovely marble floor in the bathroom was very cold.
Lovely property and beautifully appointed room. The hostess, Eileen O’Grady, is spectacular—charming, informative, and very funny. Breakfast was particularly wonderful.

Breakfast was absolutly fabulous from the homemade yogurt, the homemade bread and jams to a lovely fry. Eileen was a lovely host. College Hill is a fantastic house and the gardens are also excellent.

Beautiful country house with expansive grounds. Really cosy and well appointed house and room. The breakfast was STUNNING - the home-made fruit compote and yogurt was particularly special.

Stunning house and gardens! There was more than enough fresh delicious food and drinks available for breakfast with home made jams and bread. We stayed for a wedding in Tankardstown House which was only a 2 min drive down the road.

The room was slightly too warm during the middle of the night
Exceptional hosts who catered to our every need, we were met with a lovely greeting and a big smile. Breakfast was superb especially their homemade yoghurt and fruit compote

We were unprepared for the round table breakfast, with all guests. Fabulous experience all round still.
Room was fabulous. The full Irish breakfast was delicious. The grounds and house are beautifully well kept.

Just to know how to lock the door, it was a new way for me.
Breakfast was very good. I wish had been hungrier! Eileen and Bruce were delightful hosts, and I could adopt them. Eileen recommended I go to Newgrange and I did. Great decision. Bruce provided location coordinates to a wonderful restaurant.

The owner could have given us a cup of tea on arrival. There was no explanation of our keys, so on getting back late at night, my friend, who was staying IN the house, could get in, but I couldn't. We worked out that my key was for the entry to my house, which was in an Annexe. Luckily there were security lights, otherwise it might have been tricky. Also, no explanation as to where breakfast was.
The location was very good. There was a beautiful garden

It was a bit expensive.
The location of the house was extremely beautiful, the garden was amazing, for animal lovers, there were calfs and hens. The breakfast was yummy and fresh. Liked everything. Eileen and Bruce were lovely hosts.

Our room was beautifully furnished and a very relaxing space. The gardens were very pretty to walk around and the flowers very abundant. The breakfast was one of the best we've ever had and laid out to perfection in the breakfast room. Eileen was the most perfect host and looked after all her guests with care making sure everyone was OK and enjoying their stay. Our only issue was our stay was not long enough. We would not hesitate to stay here again!
