This is one of the best hotels I have ever been. The staff was so courteous and friendly, always happy to help the customer. One should learn customer centricity from this place. The room was excellent, and the food was exquisite. They gave so much attention to detail like decorating the room, leaving handwritten notes and making my stay comfortable. I congratulate the whole team for putting this experience together.

There were a couple of staff service quality issues that detracted from our experience. The major one was when a (male) cleaner entered our room in the afternoon of the middle day of our stay, without knocking or ringing the bell. The room had already been serviced that morning. My wife was the first person he saw and he must have realised he'd made a mistake and left quickly. She could have been naked of course! I contacted housekeeping and the duty manager apologised profusely, saying that the cleaner had made a mistake (got the wrong room), but that he should have still knocked anyway as a precaution. Personally, I don't like it when reviewers make petty criticisms, but this incident did come as a bit of shock and I don't think I've experienced it before. The more minor issue was that while we were having a drink at the Polo Club on our first evening, a hotel rep came and introduced himself and started talking up the hotel and the Oberoi chain more generally, offering us his business card for any future bookings. A brief welcome would have been nice and fine, but he took a few minutes to say his piece. No big deal, but one isn't normally up for a sales job when relaxing with a drink on the evening of a holiday. The Oberoi just needs to chill a bit on pushing their staff to sell - let the hotel do the talking, which it is capable enough of doing! One small complaint about the drink options - they were out of sweet red vermouth, which meant that a few of the cocktails listed on the Polo Club drinks menu weren't available (including Negronis). I wouldn't have thought it would be too much to expect a 5-star hotel to keep a few spare bottles of Martini Rosso on hand! Other than that, the corridors have a fairly institutional feel about them, with the grimy windows typical of polluted Indian cities, overlooking MG Road.

The Oberoi is a lovely hotel, with a suitably impressive lobby, clean & comfortable rooms, a nice pool (that is swimmable year-round given the climate) and great views of it and the surrounding garden from many (all?) rooms, especially on the very pretty balconies. The Polo Club offers a pleasant evening drinking and snacking venue (if a bit mosquito-ridden, although they do try to periodically 'smoke' them out). We didn't try the restaurants. It is centrally-located and check-in was friendly. We were able to get a considerably cheaper price by booking a few weeks before staying (mid-March 2024) than when I first investigated (a few months before that) - worth bearing in mind.

The only thing that I can mention for improvement is the size of the queen beds, which is smaller than 160 cm and is not comfortable for 2 people. Also in the room that has been booked for 2 persons, there is only one single-person sofa.

The interior and exterior design, as well as the air quality and cleanness, is exceptional. This hotel has 4 restaurants, and in each of them you can eat different types of food with high quality. The breakfast is also perfect. Additionally, i loved the importance of nature in this hotel and the garden that they have built there, which attracts a lot of exotic birds. The spa at the hotel is amazing. I would suggest to anyone who is staying in this hotel to try one of their spa options, specifically with Ms. Yangam. The location is central and has a very nice neighborhood. The staff at the front desk were very helpful, specially Mr.Harsh.

Breakfast is amazing, both continental and local with a quality in the details but also in the presentation. Rooms are really cleaned, with everything you could need (maybe I would suggest to invest a bit more on the ironing table). The restaurant are exceding the expectations.

The traditional food was consistently below standard the 3 days I stayed there. I pointed this out to the chefs too. Even the fruits were tasteless. I was surprised at how a simple item like upma did not even get a 5 out of 10. I would rate the food a 4 to 6 out of 10 only. I deliberately ate outside the hotel the last 2 meals of the stay. Their pizza etc were good, however.

Excellent breakfast and wonderful staff, especially Mohit and Pratik. They gave some great food and sightseeing recommendations and Mohit gifted us a box of some lovely teas and chocolate. Fantastic experience!
