Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaFood. For a property of this scale and price range, the flavour of the food should be superior. But the breakfast buffet is truly expansive and features a lot of local Kerala dishes which must be appreciated.
Everything. The tranquil setting, the waterfront with benches dotting the water's edge where you can spot ferries and feathered friends all day long, the spotless rooms from where you can watch the sun shimmer and sparkle like diamonds on the Lake Ashtamudi, the coffee shop overlooking the lake, the little gift shop with hidden treasures, the immaculate housekeeping, the scented corridors, the architecture and landscaping, the bathtub and indulgent bath products, and more than anything : the staff and service. My kudos to manager Manik for making us feel safe and cared for. Suraj at the reception the entire housekeeping team and the coffeshop servers , the staff at the front gate etc all made us feel comfortable and pampered.

IndiaPersonnel using the Rope net secured on the coconut trees are exposed to potential drop objects from the coconut trees. Install net on the top of the trees to prevent falling coconuts.
The staff in all areas are outstanding especially kitchen and housekeeping team.😍

IndiaThe day we checked-in I think the property was almost fully booked. They couldn’t give us a proper welcoming and couldn’t assist us properly initially. However later on they apologised for the delay and tried their best to make us always comfortable during our entire stay which I really appreciate.. Thank you Raviz team.
The location was really wonderful with close proximity to Ashtamudi lake. The staff are friendly always ready to cater your needs with utmost priority.

SingaporeIt would have been great if the complimentary half hour cruise had a commentary - even if it was a recorded one as the boat moved along.
We were given a warm welcome with seashell garlands and a nice cool drink. We were requested to take a seat and enjoy our drink while they prepared to check us in. Wonderful 👍 Throughout the stay, all the staff were warm and accommodating. We were well taken care of.

IndiaI didn't like the check-in experience at this hotel. It's something that can make or break your trip. I don't like checking in at 2 PM, but at least they told us about it upfront. I asked for an early check-in, but they never got back to me. I guess the room was booked the day before. When we finally got to our room, it was clear it hadn't been cleaned recently. There were a lot of dead bugs on the pillows. We booked a cottage with a private pool, but the pool was dirty and full of bugs too. Last thing you want to do after checking in at 2 pm is to go around finding/asking staff to clean it and wait around for almost two hours after checking in. First, they sent someone who was new and didn't know what to do (an intern on their first day). After calling housekeeping a few times, they sent someone else who knew how to clean the pool. It was quick and nice once they did it. I don't understand why they couldn't do this before we arrived. After that, things got better. The breakfast was okay, but not as good as other Leela/Raviz hotels in Kovalam. In general the staff didn't seem very interested in helping or being there. They seemed a bit clueless. I really wanted to try lunch at the floating restaurant, which was supposed to open at 12 PM. On the day I checked out, I waited until 1 PM, but it still wasn't open, so I left. They apologized for the inconvenience and gave some complementary touristy souvenirs. I appreciate the effort but doesn't make up for the experience. Overall, the hotel had some good moments, but the start was disappointing and some of the service was not great.
I appreciated several aspects of my stay at this hotel. The property itself was nicely maintained and visually appealing. One of the highlights was the complimentary services they offered, such as high tea and boat rides, which added a touch of luxury to our experience. Additionally, the atmosphere was generally peaceful for most of the time, providing a serene environment to relax and unwind. If you want to eat try the restaurant that's 15 min walk from the place called Meen by Chef Pillai it was a very nice place.

RussiaThe food is generally Indian that means it is hard to choose something edible and tasty for the Europeans. Almost no cheese and salami, no yogurt and cottage cheese, the desserts are tasteless. There is no cashew nuts at all, though the hotel is in Kerala where cashew grows in bug quantity.
I liked the pool and the inner space the hotel has in abundance.

United KingdomKollam itself isn't all that. We used it for a stopover but in 3 weeks and lots of hotels, this was our least favourite, mainly due to arriving with high expectations and being let down with the hotel and area. That said, its price point is lower than other Leelas which we now know reflects its lower quality. Wouldn't return unfortunately
Having stayed in a couple of Leela hotels previously we were excited about staying here. Unfortunately we felt this property falls way short. Rooms are tired, the bar area is an after thought, the restaurant is a bit canteen like. As others mentioned it is a popular wedding hotel so the pool area becomes the main event space, so not ideal for relaxing. The reception staff were very helpful when we asked for a different room due to external noise issues.
