United States of AmericaHmm. Hard to find fault. There are some areas of trim that need painting and fixing up but these faults did not stand out.
The staff was so nice and helpful — in the lobby, in the adjacent bar, and in the breakfast room. We had a nice terrace which felt private looking out onto the sea. The area was quiet.

Beautiful renovated hotel in the centre of town. We especially liked our sea facing room with windows on all sides and a gorgeous terrace with chairs and table. The bathroom was especially spacious. Comfortable bed. We had a tasty breakfast with a view. Thank you for a great stay 😁

GermanySince the hotel has a high end touch for a high end target of Customers, I would have appreciated a thicker and softer toilet paper. The one provided felt really cheap.
The facility is located in the very heart of Palinuro, close to everything you might need for a perfect holiday. Although the building hosting the hotel was built in the early nineteenth century, the facility has been renovated in a lovely fashion. The check-in was smooth and easy, the hotel staff quickly explained all the features and services offered by the hotel and provided me a leaflet about the SPA Center on the last floor (not to be missed, especially at sunset!!). I arrived late in the afternoon and entered by room (number 214) exactly the moment of sunset, which took my breath away. The room's balcony offered the best view can imagine on Palinuro's bay and peak and every day and astonishing sunset. The room itself was furnished with a lovely touch, especially the light blue tiles in the bathroom. Also the beauty kit was high-end, with John Richmond's shower gel and soap. The minibar offered a few local delicacies and wine. The room also had a cable tv connection with Sky, with full Cinema and Sport offering, which I really appreciated on a Sunday with Volleybal World Championship's final. Breakfast was simply amazing, in a room with an amazing view on the Palinuro's bay, and many local delicacies, like sfogliatelle, cheeses and ham and delicious honey straight from the hive. Last but not least I really appreciated the SPA Center on the last floor, with an amazing view and a wide range of services and friendly yet very professional stuff.

Irelandthe staff is extremely unfriendly and not client focused. the bath door broke and they didn’t repair, all pieces in the bathroom were in decay, the water was either too hot or too cold and when asked the staff they were not empathetic at all. I wouldn’t go back again, this hotel is a 2 star maximum!

Switzerland- Receptionist made some bad recommendations about restaurants and boat renters to visit. - After a bad time at a terrible restaurant, the receptionist didn’t take our feedback seriously and couldn’t take criticism (arguing, missing professionalism). - The hotel is structurally too old for a 4-star hotel and in dire need for renovations. - You hear a lot of noise from outside the room (e.g. cleaning staff, neighbors showering etc.) or from the air conditioning, which doesn’t help to get a good and comfortable night’s rest. - TV didn’t work: only one channel was available. - Cleaning quality plummeted after two days (bathroom and floors weren’t properly cleaned). - Our bed was uncomfortable, above all the pillows, which weren’t ergonomic. - The restaurant doesn’t have a proper Italian coffee machine: the coffee from the automatic machine contains too much water.

Santa Caterina Hotel is definitely not a 4 star hotel. It’s not good value for the money it costs, it has a central location but the hotel is run down, maybe this was a 4 star hotel in the ‘60s but it has been poorly maintained. Our room had rust in the tub, all the pieces in the bathroom were falling down, the ceiling was lifted in one area to accommodate the shower. The room was very damp, and in the hotel corridor you could smell food during the day and an awful garbage smell during the evenings/nights. The receptionist also tried to upgrade me to a superior room for a fee the week before, and at check in she told me I sounded annoyed by her call, you couldn’t use the terrace unless you would book and pay for their spa services. I highly recommend a training for most staff, as they clearly lack the basics of accommodation etiquette. No COVID measures in place for breakfast at all apart from the staff wearing masks, guests had to touch literally everything. None ever asked us for our green pass. I would never book this hotel again.
