Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWhat an amazing Charme hotel. The pictures don't do it justice in my opinion as you feel welcome, cozy as well as posh all at the same time. My sister and I shared a room - so spacious (twin bed in a separate space and a queen canopy bed) and included the rooftop private patio. A bonus we did not expect! My father's room was queen and equally charming. The rooms and common areas are well-appointed. You are in a high-end place with reasonable prices- considering the location. The breakfast is amazing. The prunes- INSANE. From made-to-order omelets to fruit and meats/cheese/yogurt and beverages. 10 out of 10. The servers are top-notch and are very attentive. The front desk made several recommendations for restaurants- one, about a 5 min walk from the hotel (same street- just a few mins away) was our favorite meal. Close to everything - yet quiet and peaceful, THIS is the place to be.

GermanyWe only stayed one night to explore Syracuse. Should have decided to book 2 nights because the city is equally impressive. But it will burn a hole in your budget:)
Hotel is located in a old converted building. In fact there are 2 of them opposite from eachother. We had booked a family suite for 4 persons and we got an immense room. In fact there were multiple rooms, all nicely decorated. Also very convenient to have 2 bathrooms (most familyrooms in hotels only have 1) and 2 complete double beds (elsewhere often a couch, bunkbed or smaller single beds). It was 110% luxury!!!

United States of AmericaThe breakfast was a little disappointing. The bowl of scrambled eggs were piled on top of other foods in the warming tray, and were not replaced when empty. The breakfast selection was not as good as other luxury hotels, very limited, fresh cooked, warmed food and fresh fruit options. The server was very friendly and responsive, but I think she was handling all the breakfast guests alone -- the breakfast service could have used more staff. Overall, the hotel's service wasn't what I would expect from a luxury hotel. Staff were very pleasant, but they seemed a bit frazzled and busy. Often, there was no one at the front desk to answer questions, we weren't offered help with our bags on arrival or departure.
The hotel is a very charming renovated palace, with old world touches, and many sitting areas in which to relax. The hotel location is perfect. Right next to the sea, but also very close to the town center. We had a Superior Double room which was ideal. Our room faced a small street, but we had a beautiful view of the sea from our small balcony. The decor in our room was charming, the room was a comfortable size for 2 of us, the bathroom was clean and nicely appointed.

The breakfast was lovely. All the waiters were very helpful and welcoming. They were always smiling and very efficient. The hotel was lovely. Everything you need and more. The decor is lovely and very peaceful. The sight from the balcony overlooking the sea is breathtaking. I could not have been looked after better by Marcello and Denise. They certainly were amazing. I will definitely come back and highly recommend. Thank you everyone at the hotel x

Large room and staff kindly upgraded us due to a mix-up with dates....not their fault. We had a lovely view of the sea. The location was excellent, and valet parking whilst expensive worked extremely well. Breakfast was great and the hotel itself is a beautiful example of a boutique hotel. Would happily stay again.

United KingdomAll good!
Perfect location opposite the sea, room was a great size with lovely decor. Lots of character and a chic theme running through the hotel. Breakfast was wonderful, coffee was delicious! We got valet parking at €30 a day which took the stress out of driving in Ortigia. The town is stunning and well worth 2-3 days of your trip. Amazing good, friendly people, beautiful scenery and the archeological site is 10/10 incredible. We can’t wait to return!

United States Minor Outlying IslandsThe person at the front desk recommended a not so good restaurant for us for dinner. We think it would be good to have a few really nice recommendations for your guests.
The two room suite we stayed in, with 3 adults, worked well for our family. It was elegant and comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

AlbaniaThe breakfast had limited choices of eggs, or cold cuts, but maybe this is just how I am used to. It had many choices of sweets. Plus was the fresh served juice.
Marcello at the front desk was very accommodating and gave us a very warm welcome. As a first impression it counted towards making us feel comfortable. He didn’t disappoint in greeting us goodbye neither! It was obvious he did things per “l’amore”
