Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NorwayAll the single rooms are towards a pedestrian street with lots of noise during the eventing and night. Book a double room instead and ask for a quiet room not facing the street. The hotel is a bit worn down, not just estetically but also affecting some functionality.
Perfect location if going to a congress at Fortezza da Basso. Great breakfast.

AustraliaOur room was uncomfortably warm. We couldn’t work the air con so rang reception and they said by law they couldn’t turn the air con on till April. I don’t understand that as they were heating our room and that electricity. I asked them to please turn the heater off as it’s too hot. The heater was left on all night. We opened our window to let cool air in but it was too noisy and mozzies flew in. I had to sleep with a wet towel on me all night the room was so hot. Please can you do something for the next customers as was not comfortable at all.

NetherlandsThe hotel is on a noisy street, the windows didn't close properly so it could get a bit noisy at times. The breakfast was not very extensive.
The location was perfect, everything was pretty much walking distance from the hotel. The room was quite comfortable and spacious. The staff was friendly.

PortugalIt didn’t have shampoo and The hairdryer wasn't working
The hotel is fabulous and close to literally everything. The location is perfect, close to the train station and the city's major tourist attractions. The rooms are nice and have everything except shampoo. The staff are friendly. And they allow you to store your bags before and even after check-in, so you can enjoy Florence even more. I really liked it

FranceStaff was a bit cold but they were still very professional. One real issue was how loud we could hear people passing by in the hallways and in the rooms next to ours.
It was a very clean, beautiful hotel, very close to everything which made our in and outs during the day very easy.

AustraliaFor the facilities and slight degradation of the room and bathroom, 470 Euros for three nights (inducing taxes) was somewhat excessive, but we were there during peak period (26 to 29 Dec); we've paid less for higher quality and central hotels in Rome and during peak season (summer 2023). While this is rated as a four staff hotel in Italy; it would be rated lower in non-European countries. The safe was small and there was no manual on how to use it; it wasn't easy/logical to use. However, the hotel staff promptly sent a person who showed us how to use it. The staff kindly stored my computer in their office when we were not in the hotel. A tip when eating out is to look at whether the trattoria or osteria charges you to sit down and eat and if the locals are eating there. Florence is a must-see city and three nights is sufficient.
This hotel is in an excellent location. It is a three to five minute walk from the train station and walking distance to the main tourist sites. There are good bars and cafes on the street and side roads. Hotel staff were polite and helpful. The room and bathroom were okay; the bathroom was small and tall/large people won't like the size of the shower. It was okay for us. However, please know this size of bathroom, shower, lift and beds is fairly standard for hotels in old Italian buildings. If you're tall or large in size, consider a more modern hotel with larger beds or enquire with the hotel first. The room was quiet; didn't smell of cigarette smoke or vape, and there was a small balcony overlooking a courtyard. Staff members did what they could to make our stay pleasant.
