How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The location was just perfect. Five minute walk to Rialto waterbus stop and about ten to San Marco. Plenty of food options nearby, including some quick bites just around the corner. The breakfast was sumptuous. Katja and Giovanna were lovely hosts, so was Rebecca who was waiting for us after a delayed flight, late at night.

Everything was perfect, the staf was a very pleasant and helpfull woman. The location was very good, just little walk to San Marco square. The room was very clean, very confort beds, and our room have had a view on little romantic canal. We are very satisfied, when we plan to come again to Venice, we will book San Firmino for sure. Thank you very much.

Not much we didn't like to have it mentioned.
Really liked the fact was in the citycenter so we were at minutes of walking to all attractions and restaurants.

Unfortunately the wifi didn't work during our one-day stay and the host was not able to fix it on such short notice.
Very nice, classic style apartment. Close to the historic city center and most popular tourist attractions. There is a shop nearby. Astonishing view from the shared living room.

As it is a B&B I actually expected breakfast. There was a tea kettle and some crackers - I don't know if thats because of the covid situation or generally the case. We didn't mind going to a nearby café for morning coffee anyway :)
What fantastic place to stay in Venice! Although it's right at the heart of it it's very quiet and charming. Don't miss the opportunity to stay in a real and authentic historical Venetian house! Communication via phone was easy and quick. Loved all about it! Highly recommended!

First of all there is no Breakfast in this BnB. They have changed management. The whole building and our room was a ‘experience.’ Not necessarily a bad one, but one night was enough for me. Just very old and uncomfortable not cozy at all.

The rooms were smaller than expected. Harsh, that the AC was out and mosquitoes came in because I had to keep the windows open. Not a luxury spot but decent. The host was great, helped us on a few items and he’s a good person.
Breakfast was decent, nothing special. Staff very nice and accommodating. Location was great but canal side was very active starting at 7 AM.

The room wasn't clean enough, so much dust. And the shower head was broken so we couldn't take shower. But we tried somehow but there were no hot water running but the stuff were very slow for helping of fixing it. When we wanted to check out there were no body so we had to wait, in the end I Text a manager if we could leave the key at the reception. Weak Wi-Fi.

Our windows opened onto the Campo where most late afternoons the noise of 10 (literally) screaming children banging on the metal panels rather distracted from the joy of returning from Venetian discoveries. There was more after midnight when groups of very drunk young men yelled at each other for an hour of so. General Venice reminder: Room windows (like ours) rarely have flywire. It only takes a few mosquitoes to disturb a nights sleep. Bring anti-mosquito candles/coils/spray.
Staff were polite and efficient. They are not always onsite, so we needed to call ahead to meet Sandra to get our keys. A lift was appreciated to get luggage up to our room. Room was spacious c kettle and tea bags (not instant coffee). En suite bathroom contained a tiny shower unit. Fridge in room was great. The location is only 5-7 minutes from Piazza S. Marco (south), Rialto bridge (west) or Ospedale (north). Only 15min walk to Biennale. Breakfast EU7.5 of coffee, croissants, juice and condiments was great value.
