Slow check-in and check-out, long lines. Air conditioning not available even though it is listed as an amenity. Had to keep the windows open to stay cool and the street outside is VERY LOUD. Needed earplugs to sleep. Please don't advertise air conditioning as an amenity unless it is available year round and the guest has control of the temperature.

the room is spacious and a full working desk available. the bathroom fully renovated offered all necessary amenities including a spacious walk-in shower. the restaurant food was amazing.

Beautiful historical building right in the centre. Dining room and staircase could be in a palazzo or museum. Feels very luxurious as the rooms are elegantly furnished and bathrooms well equipped. Plenty of staff who are extremely helpful and courteous. Buffet style breakfast offers plenty of delicious choices in a stunning setting.

The hospitality of the hotel staff is at the highest level. They genuinely want you to be comfortable and enjoy your stay. The building is beautiful inside and outside. The room had a lot of light options and even at the resort type of hotels many times it's a challenge. The chandelier in the room provided the light needed and brought a nice warmth to the room. Upon our arrival, we asked for dining recommendations that wouldn't be touristy and we were recommended an excellent one - in a nice neighborhood, not far away from the hotel, with incredible food and service. Additionally, we had a spare 15 minutes before our train and were very hungry after all-day sightseeing. We explained the situation at the bar and they accommodated our request with the highest service. I hope to come back one day.

The only criticisms I have of this hotel are: The soundproofing between rooms - it's terrible. I could hear 'everything' going on next door..... as well as my colleague snoring in the room on the other side. This is obvioulsy a structural issue due to the historic nature of the building - I recommend using earplugs. The other issue I had was that the bathscreen did not quite reach the bathtub, which meant that after every shower - the floor was flooded. This is a simple issue that can easily be resolved - and I hope the hotel does so.

The hotel is maintained to a beautiful standard and is pefectly placed in the centre of Genoa - everything was accesible on foot. The hotel is impeccably clean -the cleaning staff are constantly working throughout the day - not just a once in and out as in most hotels. The room was of a good size. The breakfast room is stunning - and the breakfast itself was excellent - a great variety of hot and cold, savoury and sweet and lots of fresh fruit - as well as cakes and pastries - highly, highly recommended. The breakfast staff were always friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast as it should be!
