Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomPerfectly situated in the centre of the old town, opposite the main church. The labyrinth of staircases and rooms reflects the age of the palace. Sensitively renovated and kept.

United KingdomNothing of note.
The location was ideal. Our rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was a most pleasant experience. The staff were very helpful - a special mention to Francesco, who was always willing to assist with any query. The hotel was a welcome cooling respite from the scorching midday heat! Made us wish we could have stayed at the hotel longer.

United States of AmericaThe hotel has a nice spa. Nevertheless, it would help if the staff spoke better English and tried to explain how to navigate the spa itself and the services there.
this is a very special hotel, where it is different since the hotel is in a very old building. The rooms are nicely renovated our room had very beautiful ceiling. The location could not be better since it’s in the middle of this lovely medieval town.

IsraelWhen we booked this hotel it was stated that parking is free near the hotel and does not need to be booked. After 5 minutes we received an email that parking is 300 meters away, costs 8 euros per day and needs to be booked. We immediately sent a request to cancel the order because one of us is disabled and it is hard for him to walk 300 meters, but the hotel flatly refused. Then we turned to booking, they sent us to the hotel. In short, booking publishes incorrect information (apparently from the words of the hotel) and no one is responsible for this

GermanyThe town itself wasn’t so interesting but is a good base for nearby attractions.
First night they gave us a triple room where the master room had no windows at all so felt like u can’t breathe. We asked to change and they were fully booked but they kindly changed the second night.

CanadaWe absolutely loved Hotel Corte Altavilla as well as Conversano, the hotel was immaculately clean and the rooms were very large and spacious. The staff were excellent and breakfast was great served on the roof top terrace. There are 2 terrific restaurants in Conversano worth going to; Vita Pugliese and Il Giullare near the castle (try book in advance). Conversano is a great base for day trips including beach days (Torre Canne), visits to Polignano Al Mare , Mattera etc. Also worth doing a boat trip to the caves/grottos from San Vito which is 15 minutes away, we absolutely loved that. We'd highly recommend Hotel Corte Altavilla!

United KingdomThe lift did not go to every floor so carrying your luggage up the stairs was not good. They should offer to take your luggage to your rooms. Otherwise staff were very helpful organising taxis to help us get to places we had organized.
Location was quaint and beautiful. Places to eat within walking distance . The breakfast was lovely on the rooftop.
