You need to be prepared to climb up steps as the historic building has several floors and levels. The breakfast was a fine mix of yogurt, fresh pastries fruit and make do order expresso drinks, but a continental breakfast only.

The location was very convenient to the main plaza. The owner, Paola, is a gracious host and an exceptional Chef. Their restaurant connected to the property was an excellent example of the Tuscan cooking. Her Pici al Fumo is a local Cortona recipe that is a must to try.

The most charming hotel with lovely owners! This is the place for a tranquil Tuscan holiday. The room was tidy and, dare I say, majestic! The breakfast is delicious as is the restaurant in the evening. We felt extremely welcome and looked after. Would hundred percent recommend this to anyone!

We wanted to stay inside the old city and Dolce Maria is just a block from the main Piazza in Cortona. It met our needs very well.

Cortona is a beautiful town - well worth exploring right up to the top. We loved Dolce Maria - it's full of character, lovely big room with high ceiling, and as others have said, the best breakfasts. It was a special place to stay. Plus easy access from the carpark (which is beneath the old city walls), and easy to explore from. We felt very welcome. Next time I think we would save up and try to book the room with the terrace and view.

The facility is a magnificent building, completely restored with its ancient charming elegance to meet the medieval atmosphere of the city. Fantastic place with lot of care in all the details. Nice big rooms. welcoming hosts. very hospitable. it had everything we needed. We arrived exhausted on bikes after a long ride. Maria welcomed us. Helped us store the bikes and settled us in to our rooms.

No view from room, but very close to everything in town.

Very central, convenient parking. Up a steep hill and then several flights of stairs to reach our room, but that’s just hilltop Cortona. It was a rainy Monday night when we stayed so great to be able to eat a yummy dinner in the restaurant downstairs. Delicious homemade jams for breakfast in the morning (thank you for the orange marmellata recipe tips!!)

everything was great. guests need to remember these medieval stone buildings don’t have lifts so be prepared to negotiate stairs to get luggage into your room.

traditional apartment with great street & sky view. plenty of room and a neat bathroom. the bed was really comfy. paintings and furnishing were lovely and fitted the historic nature of the building. hosts Paola & Franco were really lovely people who made us feel welcome and like family in their home. the food provided for dinner and breakfast was exceptional, homemade marmalade, bread, cakes, croisssants, pastas, etc. Paola is a superb chef with first rate customer service ethic & warm welcoming approach.

Location is pretty much in the center of town. Paola was really lovely and sweet. She was super accommodating to our requests (hanging around for our delayed check-in, letting us tour the tower with killer views, and leaving our luggage after checkout while we toured the town). She also makes her own jam which she served for breakfast. She is definitely quite the amazing host!
