To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The apartment is located near to the station but despite this it was queit and comfortable.There are a lot of attractions close to the apartment. The room was as expected, everything you needed was there. Friedly staff. There is a shared kitchen where you can prepare breakfast or make toast.

United States of AmericaAccess to the elevator at check in. We did not arrive by 1:00 pm so had to haul our luggage up two flights of stairs. After we checked in, we received an elevator key, which was fine, but we really needed the elevator when we first arrived.
The location was excellent, and the room was spacious and clean.

United KingdomNot sure if I am being overly cautious and this is my own fault to be fair but since the host had other guest houses they were not there to check me. Therefore the house keeper did it on their behalf which is fine but they requested to take a photo of our passports so I initially said no, but they advised they needed it to check in so I did but messaged the host via here to state I didn’t feel most comfortable doing this and they acknowledged and verified it’s normal. Secondly again may be another oversight on Booking.com or typical of Italy but the luggage storage was basically just leave your luggage in the reception of the guest house without any cameras or someone there.
The room was spacious which could have been used to fit a small en-suite if the piping was right but nonetheless the private external bathroom was decent. The guest house also had a tourist flyer with a map to all the key sites to assist you around the city. Despite the things that I didn’t like which are all personal preferences I’d recommend staying here.

United KingdomThe reception is only manned first thing in the morning (hence the need for knowing the entry code). The staff are friendly and helpful but there was nobody to contact later in the day in case of need. It was very hot during our stay at the end of September and the air conditioning could have been more efficient.
We had a lovely large room in a traditional Florentine apartment building, on the second floor (quite a lot of steps). It was only about a 10 minute walk to the main tourist centre (The Duomo, Ponte Vecchio etc etc). There is a small kitchen for guests' use, as no breakfast is provided, and we had a full size fridge in our room. We were given the entry code before our arrival so could get in to our room at whatever time we arrived.

ItalyThe location of the units is on the third floor and there is an elevator in the building but it is private. So dragging heavy bags up 3 flights of stairs isn’t ideal or if doing stairs in general is difficult I wouldn’t recommend this place. Hallway was dark and creepy upon arrival but that’s not the hosts fault. My suggestion would be to reach out to The building owner just for safety reasons it should be lit up in the event of fire or emergency.
The room size was great for my partner and I, bathroom was clean and room was clean overall, location wasn’t bad but did require some extra steps. Might not be ideal for elderly people but we are young and capable and wasn’t an issue. Excellent for a traveler or someone visiting to get a nice comfy bed to sleep in!
