Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Noise from generators. They come and go, once you notice it’s on it can be quite annoying.
Nice bar and lobby are. Spacious bathroom and clean.

Beautifully restored grand hotel with a real sense of history. Large room with lots of space, large bathroom, separate closet space and big comfortable bed. Balcony was a bonus!

The toilet seat was a little loose, but we informed the staff, and we are confident that it will be remedied before we visit again. The heated towel bar only turns on between the hours of 6-9 AM and 6-9 PM, which makes sense because that's when most people shower, but as we'd been traveling for over a week, we wanted to hand-wash laundry and have it dry on the towel rack: In such an instance, it would have been more useful for full control by us (not the hotel's automated system)
This superior room with a sea view was very comfortable, large enough, and quiet, despite overlooking one of the main boulevards next to the marina. It was nice to have the opportunity to open the window fully as we desired on occasion. The shower was a comfortable size, and it was nice to have a bidet. The bed was comfortable!

Some parts of the hotel was a little bit old furnished but it is ok

I booked 2 deluxe sea view rooms with balcony. One of the rooms had a nice balcony with 2 chairs looking out to the sea. The other room was the same but there wasn't really a balcony. It was more of a door opening with half a foot of width to stand at the door opening. It was definitely not a balcony like the other room. I wouldn't have even called it balcony.

Grand historical building, friendly and helpful staff, incredible fresh, plentiful and varied breakfast with gorgeous Italian coffee. We had a free upgrade to a room with a balcony, and waking up to the sea every day was lovely, despite the busy road underneath! The hotel provided everything we needed and we had a relaxing and luxurious stay. We loved it!

At breakfast, the staff were a little preoccupied with clearing tables and it was sometimes hard to order coffee.
Great rooms, friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was really well-stocked and the food choices were good.

Everything. The location was unbeatable, in the centre of Trieste and in the seafront, the sea view from balcony is quite amazing. The room size is huge with elegant deco and the bed was comfortable. The bathtub was equipped with over head shower. All of staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast was also excellent, with wide range of choices.

I want to thank the hotel for being able to give me and my partner a free room upgrade, it made our stay even more special :) The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful - from outside and inside. Location is suberb. Close to most attractions, restaurants, bars,... Room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff is hospitable and kind. Overall, one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at in general and I wouldn't change a thing about it. Would definitely recommend and come back. Also, the whole hotel smells really nice.

Great location overlooking bay, reception and concierge staff were all excellent, really helpful. Breakfast box prepared for us as leaving too early to sit down for breakfast. Wellness room with steam room to book for own use only with refreshments.
