Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe hotel is already a bit old. I think one should keep that in mind.
The people at the hotel were very friendly and would help out immediately. Facilities like showers, toilets, washing machines etc were always available. Walking distance to the station was fine. There is also a bus stop in front of the hotel. Convenience stores and supermarkets are along the way to/from the station. The price was very good.

FranceNothing in particular.
Very nice Japanese-style room with tatami. Small fridge and everything you need. Clean room and bathroom although shared. A bit far away from Yamanotesen but you can easily go to Nippori from Minamisenju, however a lot of konbini is close and you can easily walk from the Hotel to Asakusa or Ueno. Very good stay for the price, one of the best in Tokyo.

GermanyThe Location is very good, there are a lot of good Restaurants nearby and many attractions can easily be reached by foot. The nearest Trainstation can be reached in 10 Minuten. The traditional japanese rooms are really nice und simple. AC works great. Bathrooms are always clean. I will certainly recommend it.

It’s a cozy home away from home. You can use the kitchen or the lounge to prepare and eat the food you get at the many conbini’s or supermarkets nearby. It’s a bit of a walk to the metro, but it never feels long. This is the 4th time I stayed here when I was in Tokyo. Value for money. The staff is always so friendly. It has fabulous single rooms, traditional rooms and rooms with beds. The sento is very relaxing. I love Juyoh Hotel.

Slovakia- wifi was very patchy - the AC unit in my room was full of dust so i was waking up with a sore throat - the room had a weird smell that i could not get rid of - for the price you could definitely find accommodation in a more convenient location. this hotel is pretty far from a lot of must see things in tokyo
- friendly staff, they respond to messages fast and check-in went smoothly - great ammenities, pretty much anything you might need is available and the things that you pay for are very affordable (laundry, printer etc) - my single room had its own fridge, they also left some slippers and a robe - long reception opening hours - the whole building is air conditioned, including the shower rooms on the top floor, which was greatly appreciated - there are toilets and sinks/mirrors on every floor, as well as a mini kitchen area with a kettle - they offer to clean your room during your stay, you can also ask for a get a new towel whenever

Czech RepublicSmell in the first room I was accomodated in, but no problem in changing the room. The rooms are smaller than they look on the photos. A bit of an issue with restaurants and izakayas around opening mostly after 5 or 6 p.m., so a bit harder to get lunch.
Met the nicest english-speaking receptionist at the arrival. Had the possibility to try tatami-mats. The rooms do have A/C. The bathrooms and toilets were very clean. Microwave oven and electric kettle at each floor. Fridge in your room. Also the possibility to left your luggage there after check-out. Very nice neighborhood, quite calm, not too far from the SkyTree Tower. Many shops within 5 minutes from the hotel. Actually not that far from the Minami-Senju station. Ideal for sleep-over when you know you're gonna be out of the room most of the time. The futon is quite thin, might be not comfortable enough for some people.

SlovakiaI feel like I only have two things that I could put here: - very dusty AC in the rooom, yikes!!! - funky smells in some places from time to time :/
Right upon arrival, we were greeted by a very friendly, polite, and helpful staff- which remained true throughout our entire stay. The room was nice and it even had a fridge, where you could store your own groceries, etc. :D The bathrooms were standard and clean, with cute pink tiles- which I personally really liked, hehe ;) The common areas were nice- I especially liked the kitchen, which was very well equipped! Now, even if the location of this place might not be the most convenient- objectivly speaking- I still think it has two major advantages: 1. the public transport- you have a bus stop rigt outside the main entrance of the hotel, and a train/metro station five minute walk away 2. it is close to Sumida river- which might be my favourite spot in Tokyo. Right by the river, you have cafes, ice cream shops, Sumida Park, and on the other side of it Tokyo Skytree!! And last but not least- I feel like the price is so cheap for what you get! (Which is always a nice bonus :D) To sum up: I think this place is pretty great! I enjoyed my stay and would definitely come again :)

United KingdomThe staff were friendly and the hotel overall was very nice. I enjoyed having a fridge and the toilets were clean. The walls were thick so I couldn't hear the people in the other rooms. For the price, the location was good - good walking distance to Asakusa and very short walk to a well connected metro station.

JapanShower heads are quite old and it’s difficult to adjust the water temperature. It’d be a bit inconvenient since showers are only in 6F and 10F. Not the hotel itself but I hate climbing up the bridge to go to station.
With that price for a private room is a great deal. It’s very clean and not too far from station. Staffs are super friendly and helpful.

AustraliaWould have been nice to have fly screens on the windows, mosquitos would come in if I tried to open the window to enjoy the view. Also the room did smell a little, overall very minor issues.

United StatesThe rooms, lobby, and showers are air-conditioned but the room hallways and toilets are not, but most of the time u use the bathroom out and about, really depends on if u plan to stay in the hotel most of the time.
Honestly the place is pretty good for the price and the fact it's like a hostel, just know that from here the train station is around a 10-15 min walk and there's a bus right in the front that gets u to decent places. Rooms are pretty spacy for two, for a place to leave luggage and get a good sleep before going out again it's good

United StatesI did not like the location. It was pretty far fromt he train station, and the train station was pretty far from main hubs of Tokyo like Akihabara and Shinjuku. Staff was not available 24/7 which made things a little rough. The area surrounding the hotel also was not nice, it definitely had a darker ambiance. Though it was safe, I did not feel safe.
My room was nice with a lofted bed and I had a physical door as opposed to the capsule. It was also really cheap. When staff was available, they were really friendly. Facilities were okay.
