The sound transmits very easily in the property so even if you have the door closed, you can hear other travellers if they are doing anything on the same floor - toilet, using the sink etc.

The common area was a good place to meet other people since the rooms had little resting area. It is right next to Tobu-Nikko station so super convenient. Staff were very friendly.

The host is absolutely lovely and is so helpful! She gives many suggestions for places to visit and how to get there. She helps people integrate with each other and sets up a tea package for each person, which is really cute. It's clean everywhere and the WiFi worked perfectly. The location is great, it's right next to the train station, bus stops, shops and restaurants.

We had a great time in Nikko ! By luck we arrived during the spring festival. We enjoyed the real kindness of our hosts, their advices, the great location next to the train and bus station and only 20 minuts by walk to the temples. The traditionnal japanese room was peaceful. We made beautiful memories there, thank you again ☺️

Lovely helpful staff some of whom spoke very good English (way better than our Japanese!). Room was small, futons on floor, nothing else. But comfortable and had a heater. Shared shower with 4 or 5 rooms. Downstairs a nice kitchen and small common area. A block from both train stations.

The host and staff were great and super friendly. They gave us recommendations about places and restaurants. We had such a lovely stay at the guesthouse. Everything was clean and the guesthouse has only few rooms so it was quiet at nights. It took only 1-2 minutes to walk to Tobu Nikko station and many cafes and restaurants and a kombini near by. We highly recommend this accommodation for your stay in Nikko. Thank you :)

Perfect host - friendly, helpful and resourceful. The welcome tea and coffee set was a nice touch! Excellent location near the train station and bus stop. Easily walkable to the bakery, conbini, restaurants, shops, and bars. The room was clean and comfortable. The male dorm has only two beds so it'd be like a private room if you're lucky. I'd stay here again.

The staff was so nice : Ainri is super friendly and they were all super helpful ! Great location in NIkko, close to all the attractions/transportation to attractions. The kotatsu was super nice and warm ! Also they had electric blankets so you won't be cold in winter :) Would stay there again !

The host and staff were all SO kind and helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate us, give us useful advice and help us with anything we needed. There was also a warm and friendly atmosphere. The location was excellent. Just across the road from the bus stops and train station. Had a great time in Sumica and Nikko :)

It’s a hostel so it is simpler, shared bathroom etc. but perfect if you’re on a budget. I wish there had been a mirror in the twin room as that would’ve been helpful. Only one shower and two toilets but as there aren’t many beds there wasn’t any difficulty in using them.

It’s right next to Tobu Nikko station so it was extremely convenient, and you’re able to leave your luggage there before and after check in/ check out if you need to. It’s a really quaint Japanese building with tatami rooms and a kotatsu in the shared area, it’s a good place to chat to other guests. There’s also a kitchen and they provide teabags and coffee for each customer. The two staff members I encountered were really kind and friendly and we had a nice chat. I felt safe as a solo woman, as I stayed in one of the twin rooms which had a futon and a table. Bathroom and shower were clean and they provide a towel, slippers, and there’s body soap, shampoo and conditioner in the shower too if you’re travelling light. They also had a space heater in the room which kept it warm which was good since it was snowy! It’s not right next to the main sights like the shrines, but there are buses departing from the station to those areas and the main sights 30 minute walk away, which I didn’t mind doing. They have maps and leaflets, and information about local restaurants in the common area. The price was also amazing, especially for a national holiday weekend for those on a budget.
