1. Free transport bus until 5:10pm only while very less option from vending machine and can't go convenient store by walking as outside is too dark at night. 2. Didn't realize that shop open till 8pm give the dinner is ready at 7:30pm and was request to wait at room for phone call... 3. missing guide to use the onsen as seeing a few people walk direct to outdoor onsen without shower.

1. Good onsen but too bad i only tried once due to my body problem.. 2. Free Ice Stick just outside the Onsen with pajamas available. 3. Good view for Windows but i reach late and leave early

VERY expensive restaurants in hotel, only fixed price menu's no A la Carte. Bathrooms very small and basic. Car needed if not travelling on big bus tours. Not very pleasant when the tour buses dump LOTS of travellers who take over the restaurants and general areas.

Older style hotel, AMAZING ONSEN ! Beautiful location overlooking Lake Ashi and great base to explore the region. You will need a car. Great view of Mt Fuji too

the carpet in the hallway and in the room smells bad and dated, bathroom in the room smells like not cleaned well.

The people from concierge and the shuttle driver are extremely polite and helpful! The landscape is supposed to be very beautiful when the flowers are blooming, the lake and mountain view from the rooms are nice, the hot springs in the hotel are very comfortable, the hotel to the bus station , ferry port, restaurants as well as to the hakone shrine is in walking distance.

Little too expensive for what it offers, but we would like to return in few years during month of May, when all flowers will bloom. Beautiful view of Mt Fuji from observatory.

The receptionist yasuke was amazingly helpful, and all the staff within the facility welcomed me very nicely 10/10.

The facilities are a little bit dated compared to the price of the hotel. It is very clean, it’s just the rooms are on the older side.

The restaurants are amazing! We went to the Japanese restaurant for dinner and the French restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Both restaurants offer tasting menus for dinner, which were incredible.

Location Location & Location! Also, classic style deco is so interesting. It's almost as if I am staying in Museum. Their onsen was so relaxing & spacious, especially outdoor one. I was the only person in the onsen when everything was covered with snow. It was a magical experience. Oh, I loved eating free ice bars after the hot bath.

Their location is beautiful in front of lake. they have a large garden, very nice walk around their property. As their posts, there are beautiful azalea, they will broom around May. I have another reason to visit to hakone and stay this hotel.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel de Yama. The location was a huge plus for me, as I was interested in visiting the Hakone Shrine and Torii gate before it got too crowded. The service was great, the staff were lovely and friendly, and I loved the view of the garden and lake from my room and the hotel's public onsen.

Wished there was a gym, but otherwise the facilities were amazing.

Beautiful grounds with a large garden. Hotel was tastefully decorated. Rooms were spacious with good views of the Lake and Mt. Fuji on a clear day. Lovely onsen and wonderful American breakfast. The hotel even has a private jetty and an observation deck. The lounge bar has a lovely atmosphere.

Very good first impression via email communication before arriving. Wonderful view with autumn leaves, and impressive dinner and breakfast (highly recommended). Onsen was great too. 5-min walk to Hakone Shrine

Not so much of a dislike but a heads up: most restaurants around the port close early so just plan accordingly. It also takes about 1h by bus to rewach Hakone-Yamoto

Huge room, great little onsen, view of the lakes and mount fuji (from the garden) were out of this world. Really felt special to spend a couple of days here. Highly recommend the Japanese bfast over the french one. Staff were super friendly, they sent a shuttle to pick me up at the port way after their standard latest pick up time, so i didnt have to walk in the dark.

Beautiful lake location. Staff at front desk speaks English and is super helpful in arranging taxi tour, and spend 20min to help with our English app to reserve Shinkansen train. Onsen inside hotel, with amenities like massage chair in well equipped makeup room.
