Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The location is great for Tokyo visitors. You can easily get to both Haneda and Narita on the subway from Asakusa. It is a no frills hotel with small rooms, typical of Japan. There is a restaurant in the hotel which serves a buffet breakfast and has some European options. A few of the staff speak English but google translate works well. There is a coin laundry in the hotel. It is good value for money compared to other hotels in Tokyo.

CanadaYou can tell the hotel and its rooms are a bit older. Main issue for us was the ventilation in the bathroom was not great...not sure if that's a consistent issue or was just our room, but we set up a bathroom diffuser and aired it out after we showered, so didn't bother us too much in the end. A little confused by the cleaning system. We selected eco-clean one day and they even cleared the empty bottles and plastic cups we had left out, but then subsequent eco and regular cleaning days, they left our bottles and cups... Like most hotels we stayed at, the room was not very big. Just something to keep in mind if you plan on travelling with several luggages. My friend and I had one large and one small suitcase each, and we made it work by taking turns opening them up to re-organize and pack. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk to either Tawaramachi or Asakusa stations along the Ginza line, which was what we took almost every day to go out into Tokyo and explore. It worked fine for us and we didn't mind, but some may not like the lack of train lines in the area.
Great location for us and good bang for your buck hotel. We loved staying in Asakusa, the area is quiet and the hotel is still well situated steps away from Senso-ji and a Don Quijote! Huge plus for us: the hotel is a 4-minute walk to Asakusa View Hotel, which is one of the Airport Limousine bus stops! The stop serves both the Haneda Airport and Narita Airport routes, which was why we opted for Richmond Hotel in the end since we were flying out separately from the respective airports. It made all the difference on our last day, so easy to just check out and walk with our bags to the bus stop. Hotel is western-style, so the bed was higher and pillows were softer than the Japanese-style hotels we stayed in. The room layout is well thought-out and had all the amenities we needed, and the TV had Netflix which was nice! Lobby had amenities for guests like toothbrushes + toothpaste, skincare, bath salts etc. which you could pick up on your way up to your room.

- Great location in Asakusa, friendly staff and near the shrine, tourist gift shops, a fabulous coffee shop 2 min walk away plus ample places to eat for lunch/dinner. - Beds are comfortable and in the reception area there are lots of free bits such as: travel tooth brush/toothpaste, razor etc. - Luggage shuttle service available.

PhilippinesIt would have been useful to have a security safe in the room. The buffet breakfast was adequate and the quality reasonable. It was slightly below expectations and monotonous during a long stay.
The location is ideal for a stay in Asakusa. It is very near the main temple complex and is a convenient place to travel to if arriving from Narita airport. The room was small, as is often standard for Tokyo hotel rooms, but is was comfortable and everything worked. The amenities were practical and useful and the modular bathroom was of a good standard. Cleaning of the room and linen changes were done well and efficiently

United States of AmericaMaybe they will have to update some of the decor in time, such as upstairs common area carpeting, etc. Breakfast had many choices, I did not pre-purchase before travel. Decided to eat nearby second morning.
Convenient location in Asakusa, Tokyo, and close to train, subway, sites, restaurants of Asakusa and nearby areas. I stayed here 2 nights for my return back to Tokyo from Kyoto to be in another part of the city (initially stayed in Shinjuku this trip). Friendly and professional staff. A VERY clean hotel. My room was comfortable and I had a great view of the city and at the end of the common area hallway on my floor there was a fantastic view of the Temple especially at night. As clean as it is, there will need to be some light updating done here-and-there sometime in the future, such as the upstairs common area carpeting and perhaps common areas decor. But with the attentive staff and noticing how thorough the cleaning staff works, I felt very comfortable staying here. I liked the fact that the rooms weren't super modern as a super modern style dates quicker. I really liked the room aesthetic, was very comfortable. I purchased breakfast one morning and it was good, I ate nearby on the other morning. This hotel is a very good value. Easy to walk out the door to the world of Asakusa.

United KingdomOne computer for the use of guests in the lobby, language was fixed as Japanese so difficult if not impossible to use for non-japanese speakers. Please teach staff to switch it to the required language. That's it, a minor issue.
The basic requirements were met perfectly, a selection of vending machines including alcohol, a laundry room with easy to use washer/dryers. The hotel also offered other services as required. They had an onsite restaurant too.

United States of AmericaNo complaints!
This is the ideal hotel for staying in Asakusa. I've also stayed next door at the Richmond Premier and I prefer this hotel due to its smaller size and better views of Sensoji Temple due to its closer proximity to the temple complex (the Premier is newer/larger/fancier and thus more expensive). The staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast has many options (Asian and Western, including scrambled eggs), and the guest room was comfortable.

Czech RepublicThis hotel has a really good location if you wish to visit places around Tokyo or need to use schinkansen to travel. Hotel staff was really professional and always helpful. Rooms are quite big for Japan and room TV's have android in them, so it really easy to cast some stuff from you mobile for that late evening chill.

AustraliaLike most Japanese hotels the rooms are small with very little space for luggage. Breakfast buffet had wide selection but was lukewarm at best. Check in was clunky and long winded - they already had all the details.
So close to Senso Ji and only 10 min to trains.
