The coffee at breakfast could have been a lot better. Individual cafetières would be ideal.

Kobe was paradise! The location was idyllic, room very spacious and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, food delicious and very good value. The ambience was peaceful, chic and relaxing. Pools were quiet and super clean. The beach was easily accessible and good for walks into Watamu. We will be back!

Everything was perfect, and if I really have to think about an improvement I would say to have a softer beds :( Other than that, our stay was great and super relaxing.

Excellent location right on the marine national park and a great white sandy beach, 5 minutes tuk tuk (or taxi) away from Watamu. Very spacious and super clean room, bathrooms equipped with all amenities (including a bidet). Good breakfast with a decent variety of sour and sweet stuff. Super kind and friendly staff and a really good a la carte restaurant with a well-thought Italian touch. Very clean a nicely designed swimming pools. Walking in the sea with low tide in the morning was fun! I really recommend Kobe Suites resort for a comfortable stay in Watamu!

I loved this hotel. It’s in the most incredible location. The beach is stunning. The hotel has 2 beautiful salt water pools. My room had a lovely porch overlooking the back pool. The room is really generously sized. The food is delish and the margaritas exceptional! And the staff wonderful- attentive but never in your face. Kobe is so special!

There’s really no major drawbacks with the hotel, you know what you get. Quality, comfort and cleanness. It has all the attributes for a nice hotel, like most major hotel chains, but it lacks perhaps in that “local feeling” that we got in smaller boutique hotels in other places of Watamu. If you’re looking for an experience similar to major hotel chains, and not for a personal/local experience then Kobe is the perfect choice. Be also aware that the beach below the hotel is occasionally crowded with sales people who sell everything from souvenirs to boat trips. Although, they are very friendly and not at all as pushy as in many places of Europe. They do show respect and personal space, if you kindly decline their offer they will leave you alone, and eventually recognize you and stop selling what ever it is they’re trying to sell. So all in all, great hotel for a comfortable and predictable stay on the beautiful shores of the Indian Ocean.

Kobe Suite Resort is a beautiful hotel located right above the most pleasant beach in all of Watamu. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable with attentive staff. Rooms are very spacious and and nicely decorated and the room comes with a balcony/terrace. Staying at Kobe, you won’t need to leave the hotel area - besides for going to the beach. You have everything at your disposal, from nice pools to wonderful views of the ocean and, most importantly - the food! The restaurant is really good with super chefs. They mostly serve Italian food, so if you’re looking for local food the choices are limited. But the food is of high quality and you won’t need to worry about the food hygiene.

Very few criticisms; the room needs a black out curtain between the seating area and the bedroom, the hot water is scolding hot, so always run the cold first, there was no evening turn down service. The beach is not really a swimming beach other than at low tide when sandy clear bottomed stretches appear.

We had a very comfortable suite (5) with a very large balcony. Good aircon and a nice bathroom with excellent shower pressure. Restaurant position is really nice and we both enjoyed the food. Good selection of wines. There is a huge and interesting beach at low tide. Two pleasant pools with non of the “reserving sunbeds” horror. Under thirty rooms with pleasant grounds. We thought the hotel was good value for what was on offer. Most importantly we would stay again.

there was unfortunately quite a big group who made quite a lot of noise but this is not the fault of the hotel. What we were also disappointed about were the quality of fruits at breakfast. They were not sweet at all, rather on the contrary, not ripe and sour and that is definitely not necessary in Kenya as we had wonderful sweet fruits at South Coast.

It is at a nice quiet part of Watamu Beach.
