Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI’m afraid the breakfast really lets this lovely place down. It’s so bad it’s inedible and we didn’t even bother with it on day 3. Where do I start…firstly, for me at least, one of the things I look forward to when visiting Morocco is the tasty breakfast: hot msemen, rich butter to melt upon it, homemade jams and pastries, hot rich baghir, mint tea…unfortunately the buffet breakfast here was a complete disappointment. It did offer msemen and baghir, but these were hard and cold, the butter rock hard, the jam industrial…there was some porridge but it was watery (made with water), and inedible, small pots of flavourless natural yoghurt and industrial tasting stale slices of cake. The ‘juice’ was frozen. The only good thing about the breakfast was the coffee, that was good. We decided to try again on our final day as we had a morning flight to catch, we arrived at the breakfast room for 8am (the breakfast start time) to find it closed. Other guests also arrived and were waiting, but the breakfast staff seemed oblivious to this and just carried on cleaning, etc, at a relaxed place, ignoring the waiting guests. The breakfast was finally more or less ready at 8:30am. That half hour delay meant a big rush on our side as we had a plane to catch. I’m afraid the breakfast side of this lovely establishment needs a complete overhaul as it really lets it down, I don’t know whether it’s a franchise but they don’t seem at all in keeping with the rest of the hotel and, at nearly £100 a night for a room, I feel that guests deserve a much better experience than the one currently offered. Judging from the other reviews here, I can see I am not the only guest to feel this. Also in the rooms themselves: for ours, there was a missing hairdryer and also as it tends to get cold at night, I would have really welcomed a working radiator (the plug in one didn’t work), although they did provide nice heavy extra blankets.
The lady on reception is simply wonderful: very friendly, kind, attentive and so helpful and welcoming. The location is pretty unbeatable with amazing 360 views on the roof terrace of both the sea and the medina. The complementary pot of mint tea to take on the roof terrace on arrival is good, while the building itself is a very large riad, but with a lift installed for ease of reaching all the floors, very useful indeed. The interior is beautiful and in the traditional riad style, the room itself was decorated to a high standard and very aesthetically pleasing, with a huge bath, very comfortable bed and toiletries. The room was cleaned to a high standard daily and we were allowed to check in early which was a godsend as we had taken an overnight flight so were absolutely exhausted on arrival. The hotel is situated in an excellent location, within the medina walls (make sure you have some dirham on you to pay one of the men with the trolleys to take you and luggage there if a first time visitor as cabs are not allowed within the medina walls), close to everything. They are not serving food aside from breakfast this time of year, but there is a restaurant also with a roof terrace, directly next door and they serve excellent food and drinks along with live music from 6pm each evening.

IndiaThe breakfast was a disappointment. Not very tasty and the coffee was average.
Gorgeous location. The properly was beautiful. Very close to the beach, and can just sit on the rooftop and watch the sea. Close to the restaurants and shops, which made stepping out for meals and coffee very easy.

United KingdomBreakfast was super basic. Courtyard area was strangely dark and not used. Seems like it could do with a bit of TLC.
Shabby chic hotel with amazing views! Somewhere between a riad and a hotel. We requested the roof terrace room which was huge and had a bath and a view of the waves so we were lulled to sleep and woken up by the waves. Awesome! Also has a lift and so is wheelchair accessible.

United States of AmericaIt rained and the water came in under the door, covering the floor. I needed to use my towels to stop it.
I loved the view and ambience of the room. I felt like I was in a movie and should be there writing a novel or creating a painting masterpiece. There was a wind, rain and lightening storm to watch from my room and it felt cosy and spectacular! The staff were helpful. It felt like authentic Morocco. Loved it!

Abkhazia, GeorgiaIt was all lovely.
The hotel is beautiful and has a lovely ambience. The room and bathroom were lovely. The views of the sea and sunset from the roof terrace were wonderful. The staff were friendly and very helpful at all times. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful with lots of choice. We loved the location too, it was quiet but very close to the sea and the bustling streets of the medina. We enjoyed a relaxing massage booked through the hotel too.

IrelandAmazing location. Incredible rooftop view. Very friendly staff especially the cleaners and the lovely woman at reception. We were kindly upgraded to a room with a view of the sea. Very spacious with a lovely bathroom. The wifi was difficult to connect to - like everywhere in Morocco but this shouldn’t be a priority for anyone as there is much more to look at in this country than your phone! There is so much potential for the rooftop terrace, a little TLC would make such a difference as it has stunning views. Great location so close to the sea and souks.

United KingdomWe asked for 2 separate beds and sea view room, to which receptionist were able to accommodate us and really we were blown away by it all. Even the size of the bath tub, must have been about 6ft. To put it into perspective, we were only meant to stay 2 nights then move on to another city. But we loved Essaouria and this hotel so much we cancelled the rest of our plans and stayed 4 nights in total! The roof terrace was exceptional, just a bit higher up than all the rest with fantastic views over the sea at your right on the edge of the land. Couldn’t believe our luck with the terrace next door being a restaurant with live music most nights, so got to hear beautiful music every evening on the terrace. Staff were all genuinely lovely, rooms always clean and we had everything we needed. 10/10 and definitely plan to come again, especially to this hotel!
