Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Arab EmiratesA bit compact, but I guess that would be expected being right in the Medina itself.
Cost effective accommodation in the Medina

IrelandGreat location near markets and main square but also near restaurants and walking distance from newer part of Marrakech. Only a few mins walk from archway exiting the Medina so easy and safe to find way around.

SwitzerlandThe bed was a bit firm and the room was quite dark. I ate dinner one night and it was ok - but I think it was just reheated food. It was still tasty though. I didn't have breakfast but many people ate there daily, so must be good!
Siad was so wonderful. He is very friendly and gave good tips for the area (and for my safety). I was travelling alone and one night I did not return til later and he messaged to see if I was ok. It was nice to know that there was someone there looking out for me. On my last night he showed me how to make Moroccan tea and we chilled and drank some together which was a lovely end to the trip. The riad was lovely, the terrace areas were great, the room was nice and it was a very convenient location.

United KingdomFood were slightly more expensive compared to the restaurant and cafe outside. It can be quite difficult to find the riad if you are here for the first time, may be worth checking with them the map/direction as it can get stressful if you are driving as well. There is no direct street access if you drive. You will have to park at the busy off street car park outside medina, which cost around 20 MAD per day and walk with your luggage for about 8-10 minutes in the medina to get to the riad. Not very convenient if you are travelling with a young child as well.
We were welcomed with a nice Moroccan tea and snack when we first arrived. The room we stayed is at the ground floor which is directly outside the common living area, so it may noisy at night if its full house. We were lucky to visit in the month of Ramadan, around early April, so it is not too busy. We ordered set lunch which costs us around 200 MAD, which is slightly more pricey than what you can get outside. There is an option for breakfast, but we did not choose to have our breakfast in the riad as you get it cheaper outside. The reception were helpful and gave us lots of tips on where to visit. Location was quite central and easy to get around the medina from where we lived.

GermanyWe noticed is that the bathroom wasn’t very private because there are holes in the wood decorations. It did not bother us but we would recommend to cover them to make the Riad even more comfortable:)
Riad Makila is located mere minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Jamaa El Fnaa. The alleyway where the Riad is located is tiny but don’t let that stop you and follow along. We were greeted by Said who was excellent! He was attentive and always available. In fact, all of the staff we met were so sweet! They speak English and French fluently. The rooms are beautiful and the beds very comfortable. On the roof you have a nice view to a nearby park in the green. A beautiful Riad! We would stay there again :)
