Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The view is amazing! The room and bed are comfortable. The location is easy walking distance to the old town, main centre and lake. The owner is proactive, helpful and a very good communicator.

We had a bulky luggage and it was difficult to bring it to the apartment.
The property was in a nice location and the view to the lake was amazing. There are some nice restaurants in the area and the host provided some good recommendations. The host was very responsive to all the questions. A parking place in a secure area was also good. The apartment itself was clean and spacious. It had amenities for us to do some light cooking. I would fully recommend the apartment for a short or a long trip.

The finishings are a little dated but are better than the pictures.
Location and view. Very close to parking and restaurants. Very comfortable bed. Easy check in process.

A very nice apartment with wonderful view of Ohrid lake. The room is beautiful and cozy.Location is good, three minutes to the center. The owner is nice and warm,she sent us lots of recommendation.

Too much light in the morning and the room/bathroom could use some refurbishment.
Excellent location, stunning view on the lake and not too expensive. Good contact with the host as well.

Economic room: With luggage in it no space to move. Too small shower cabin. No air condition.

There is a restriction for cars entering the old town, so keep in mind that the streets are very narrow and parking might be challenging or expensive. I am happy that our hosts let us park the car in front of the house, so we didn’t have to pay for parking in the city Center
The apartment is located in the heart of the old town, close to the shops and to all attractions. The hosts were very kind and gave us some recommendations on where to go and what to see nearby. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Fantastic location, very central, close to old town & the lake as well as more modern part. While the location was great & central, it was quiet at night, without any loud neighbours or parties around. Very good communication with the hosts, they were very helpful. Both room & bathroom were very clean. Good parking spot and location just across the main road from the accommodation. Thank you very much!

Great location, on a picturesque lovely street. The room was cozy and very clean. Jovanka, the host, is amazing. She’ll recommend where to go, what to visit, and where to eat. She’s extremely friendly and helpful and you’ll have no problem communicating in English. I definitely recommend this place.

I would change the old closet from the room. It's not in a good shape.

Accommodation is located very close to the centre, in a quiet street. Our room was comfortable with TV (with some english canals) and amazing views to the lake. Small kitchen was available in common hallway. Our host was wonderful! She gave us great recommendation for restaurants and shops. She met all our requirements.

A lot of light coming in the morning in the room as it is not possible to make it really dark. Not really problem for us as we are early birds

- In general, it is a guest house so as long as you do not expect a hotel or high level of facilities, everything is fine and for a guest house, it was really nice.
- Perfect location in the old town, the neighbourhood is calm, not busy like on the Old Bazaar street but at the same time, you are just next to it. - The view on the lake was very beautiful, enjoyed the small terrace - Room is functional and clean - Friendly owners, they gave me recommendations and called a taxi for me
