Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe pool area is a bit tired but it does the job and there is a lovely space next to the harbour that hotel guest can use to swim in the sea (lots of fish!) with a bar and sun loungers.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We liked that there was filtered water available on every floor and the breakfast had a variety of choices both cooked and continental. Room was large and had all we needed with good A/C. The location was perfect for us as it is in a quieter area of St Paul's Bay but close to the boat dock for trips to the blue lagoon. There is also a lovely bar just down the stairs from the hotel which is cheap and cheerful for food and drinks.

United KingdomNot much. A kareoke under my window on 2 nights (I was there for 13 nights) but it wasn't that bad. I think it stopped at 11 or 12. I don't like the fact that you have to pay for a safe. This would be better included in the room rate.
I have stayed at the Gillieru twice before, so knew what to expect. The staff ni reception, particularly Ariana are wonderful and very helpful. The room was perfect (side sea view) I had a generous balcony overlooking the boats and loved it. Personally I think the hotel has some old Malta charm. The bedrooms and wardrobes etc could do with a repaint, as there are chips etc...but this is a little thing. The price is good and it is so easy to get a bus from Mosta road towards Valletta, Naxxar or Sliema. There is a nice sunbathing area and the pool is saltwater. It is sometimes billed as 4 star, but I would put it at a good 3 star. Everything you need for a comfortable and well priced stay. I didn't have breakfast as there are plenty of options around, especially the little cabin to the right, out of the doors and walk down. Coffee is 1 euro etc. Well worth the money paid.

United KingdomThe restaurant and facilities are laid out very well, i think the staff need to be properly trained and need some more experience.
We didn't book with breakfast but used the restaurant area for lunch and it was pleasant, the food is a bit expensive for what it is.

NorwayThe adjoining restaraunt. Over priced for a start and food that really doesn't live up to it. Very disappointed with the food I received for the price paid. Steak at €43 which was served raw and cold in the middle. Returned to kitchen and the new steak given was too tough tocut through.
Nice location. Quiet. Very well sized and laid out room. Tall ceilings which was really nice

United KingdomRoom was comfortable and thoughtfully included water vessel and bottle opener. I didn't give 10 rating as the decor was rather tired and could do with a lick of paint.
Lovely location with easy access to transport. Choice of different restaurants around to cater for all tastes and finances. Reception staff were very helpful.

United KingdomThe view from our room was of the underneath of the bridge to the pool area, however as we were only there for one night I can understand why we were allocated this room. The mattress protectors were plastic-backed, making for a rather uncomfortable night.
The lobby area was tastefully furnished and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, bright and spacious. The location is handy for accessing the facilities in St. Paul's Bay, Bugibba and Qawra.

United StatesThe property is dated and needs upgrading to be considered a 4 star facility. Bed was uncomfortable with old springs. Room furniture and fixtures need upgrading. Room was not clean with bugs in the bathroom and in bed. Breakfast was mediocre : overcooked eggs, no butter, stale bread, etc.
Great location on the water. Corner room with two balconies. Great swimming pool and patio
