We struggled with the smell of the sargassum sea weed that was on the shores. This was the only issue and it was out of the hotel’s control.

We loved the way it looked and we LOVED the staff! The kids enjoyed swimming in the pool almost every day.

It needs more staff to keep up with cleaning every day not only every three days. Breakfast could also have something else added as cold meats or make the eggs different to change from one day to another.

Excellent location, it was very easy to get to every place from here. Pleased with finding all needed in our room to cook, very good size fridge.

The rooms are more like small apartments and the kitchens are not adequately supplied with basic tools. The furniture was not very comfortable in the living room … really no place to sit in comfort.

The location is exceptional…right off 5th Avenue…near all the action. Staff was very, very good….especially Lili, Miquel and Marianna

The bed was not comfortable. The king-sized bed in one of the bedrooms was two short and the frame was extremely squeaky, even from a slightest movement. The cleanliness of the rooms/bathroom was questionable. Also, our rooms did not get cleaned one, even though daily maid service was supposed to be included.

The hotel is charming and the location is excellent. Our two bedroom/two bath suite was very spacious. The breakfast was adequate but ended too early at 9:30 am.

The hotel did not live up to it’s 4 star rating for a number of reasons. The breakfast is meagre to say the least and the kitchenette was poorly equipped (not a single pan, tea towel or even a plug for the sink). We were told cleaning the room was every 3 days unless you request otherwise which should be automatic for 4 star. The polished steps from the lobby to the lift (that doesn’t work when it rains) and roof terrace were so treacherous in the wet, with no handrails or staff wiping them to make them safer. If you decide to risk life and limb when it’s wet to go up to the roof terrace, be careful you don’t fall off as the wall is dangerously low.

The Acanto is located close to all the action whilst being tucked away down a side street. The rooms are large and comfortable and the staff were always keen to help.

Car parking is limited. Because of the great location some of our group couldn't sleep due to the street bands

We liked Carla - who welcomed us on the first night. SHe went out of her way to find wine glasses and a bottle opener for us for the night we were there. It seemed like the people here really care about their clients. Location is perfect .

Would prefer daily room cleaning instead of every 3rd day.

Staff was friendly and helpful, especially Miguel. Location is near 5th Ave and yet it was not noisy at night. We were able to sleep quite comfortably. Definitely recommend.

The whole experience was wonderful. From the interaction with the front desk before I arrived to the minute I left. Liliana and Karla at the front desk were incredible and extremely helpful. They suggested transportation, restaurants and places to visit. Miguel was amazing. He made breakfast every morning and also took care of security. Our room was ready for an early check in which was a gift. We had a little issue with the AC and Karla moved us to another room right away. The location is simply great. A few steps from 5th Ave yet we could barely hear any noise. We were a few blocks from the beach and close to everything we wanted and needed. I highly recommend this hotel. It was charming, clean, the rooms were spacious, and the staff was simply wonderful!

There was a bit of sewer gas in the area around the hotel. Some of the finishers were dated and should be dealt with.

The breakfast was a fresh continental breakfast, certainly meeting my expectations. The staff were very nice and did all you could expect of them.
