Honestly, it was the lighting in my room. The lamp I had was flickering and very dim. That was the only issue.

Cheap price, prime location, cute room and good wifi!! Staff was super nice and helpful!

Shared kitchen facilities were not very clean. Would be nice to have a microwave in the kitchen and a lamp by each side of the bed. No TV.

Location was good but its very hard to get down the beach road since the road was clogged (though it was holiday weekend which made it much worse). Room was pretty clean. Bed was nice. No TV. Shared kitchen. The staff was really nice and helpful.

In order to get to the beach, it is necessary to overcome the obstacle of the 1st line of private hotels. yes

This is a small but very cozy hotel. Excellent location-very beautiful view from the window. The staff is very pleasant and friendly.

In the reviews it states that breakfast was offered at the hotel, not true. The hotel is outside, so keep that in mind. The water pressure was not the best either. By the end of our stay, our sheets felt kind of wet because of the hours of the air being cut off, which i understand.

LOCATION!!!!! The location was just perfect, just as stated in the description. Next door to a yummy restaurant (Casa Banana), across the street from day clubs and ice cream and short walks to all restaurants and night clubs as well. We asked the front desk via Whatsapp if he could help set us up a few rides, he was very fast to respond and was very helpful! Very simple. If you are looking for a good location, but very simple stay, this is your place.

Music was very loud at night especially as the room isn't fully 'sealed' at the ceiling to wall. The quietest night was Sunday, otherwise you'll have extremely loud music till midnight minimum. Would be great if there were some bedside lights or an alternative to the main room light. Would be great if aircon came on a bit earlier than 9pm.

The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Always quick to fix anything we mentioned. The room was very big with all the basics and amazing balcony with table and chairs. The room was, cleaned well every day with fresh towels. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. Property felt very safe, staff always at reception and behind a closed gate.

    Nothing

Casa Ambar truly surprised me with its peaceful and authentic atmosphere. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it offers what really matters: a well-kept environment, good energy, and a location that makes it easy to move around without needing a car. What I appreciated most was the sense of peace. Even though it's close to bars and restaurants, once inside, you feel completely disconnected from the noise. It's ideal for resting while staying near the best that Tulum has to offer. The decor is simple yet full of character. You can tell that the details were chosen with intention—nothing feels excessive or artificial. The spaces are inviting, and there’s a consistent sense of cleanliness and order that makes you feel at ease. The staff were always kind and available when needed, without being intrusive. The service feels warm and genuine, not formal or forced, which immediately puts you at ease. Without a doubt, I’ll be coming back.

If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday, just be aware that there's a lot of music coming from the nearby restaurants until around 1 AM. It wasn't an issue for me since I was there alone and looking to have fun, but it's something to keep in mind if you're after a quieter experience.

The hotel location was amazing; it was right in the middle of all the restaurants, cafes, and beaches. I can almost say I hardly used a taxi at all.

After flying overnight no sleep 2 planes 2 buses and moped to the hotel I arrived here- Upon checkin I was shown to the room which had Ac inside, within an hour I realized it was disabled. On this day it was 95 deg 80% humid in Tulum. I was confronted by reception girl Daniella who told me my card on booking didnt go through and I need to pay. I then told her I would leave due to Ac issue, she immedietly became hostile and threatened to call the police if i didnt pay. The gate was closed on me and I was told I need to pay to leave, I decided to pay the 1st night to avoid any further escalation.

nice Irish lad grounds keeper who assisted in calming down reception girl

The parking is limited and we had to leave our keys to move cars around, and thats when the hotel was not even fully booked. Slippery floors if wet.

Perfect location if you would like to go to beach clubs and restaurants. Very good water pressure, with very hot and cold water. Rare in Tulum

Nobody was there sor several hours around 6h so I could not have a room. I called many times and even came back. They charged me extra fees that they do not want to me to refund, plus extra fees for a cancellation night wich I end paying 1 night at around 550us (3x higher). Shower did not work well. Perhaps, great jungle view and well situated.

    well situated.

The jungle view sounds cool in theory but it gets no sun on the balcony & so there are tons of mosquitoes day and night so we couldn’t use it. Don’t be fooled by the location- although the property is ‘across the street’ from the beach, the only enter point is 1.7 km from Casa Ambar at Posada Lamar unless you want to pay $70 US (average) for beach access from one of the neighbouring beach clubs. We drove down & we’re lucky enough to get a parking spot (there are only 4 spots). There are only 4 parking spots- fortunately the property wasn’t busy when we were there. WIFI was terrible. We ended up having to turn on our roaming data.

Close to tons of restaurants (everything is over priced though). The bed was large & comfortable. Shower was hot & they provided body wash, shampoo & conditioner. AC was excellent. Room was large & spacious. Kitchen downstairs had a fridge & everything you need to cook. Staff was incredibly friendly. It’s $69 USD or $1,200 MXN for walk in. Booking on this platform is not a good deal.

This property has a lot of potential to be good; however, at this time it's pretty terrible. This is more of a Hostel. They have their own power generator and power/lights go out for an extended period of time multiple times a day AND night. We didn't feel safe to be in the complete darkness and had to find a different hotel the next day. Terrible internet connection. Water in the sink was leaking. Bed sheets had stains.

    Very friendly staff on site.

You should note, A/C is only from 9pm-7am... the whole area does not have a sufficient electrical infrastructure so every property has to run generators to run A/C... Also wifi does not reach room 1. I do recommend that both properties get StarLink and check all repeaters for functionality. ALL GUESTS WANT FAST WIFI... now STARLINK makes that possible in tulum where all infrastructure is very substandard

Location COULD NOT BE BEAT! REALLY GOOD VALUE! Cool eco rooms

    love everything, such great team

Casa Ambar have changed our reservation to their sister Posada Lamar the one with beach club which was amazing - we love our room, just few steps to the beach, great pool area and beach chairs. Breakfast was served on our balcony every morning ( we didn’t have breakfast include, it’s around 500 pesos per person) last day they kindly gave us a complimentary breakfast.
