Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Arab EmiratesRooms were a bit small, but expected on a boat.
The location is great, almost like a hideaway from the bustling red light district which is a 5 minute walk away. The host, Captain Chango is an amazing individual and made ot feel like home. The rooms are small as you'd expect on a boat, but shower and bathroom were super clean and everything works as it would at home. There is a large lounge area to hang out, and Chango is always there to help out, give advice and quickly becomes and old friend. Great experience overall.

United KingdomCabin a little cramped for 2 adults. Not sure what I expected. You certainly need to get on well with your travelling partner as there is little chance of privacy or your own space. Don’t like the fact you can’t sit upright in bed but again that’s my ignorance…. It IS a houseboat afterall.
The novelty of staying on a houseboat. Just felt the right thing to do in Amsterdam. Very central and an easy walk from the train station.

DenmarkPretty far from the grocery stores, no mini fridge to store snacks. In the winter you have to be pretty careful while walking up to the boat since there are no rails on the wooden path on the water and it can be slippery.
the room was very cozy and got warm very fast (used heater). the owner was very friendly and helpful:) Not far from the main station.

United States of AmericaIt was super cold while we were there so the walk to sights was a little long. In other weather it would have been no big deal at all! More a comment than a criticism. Taxis were easy to get when needed.
We surprised our 20 and 22 year old with this Botel. They loved it! It was unique and very cozy. Nice “living room” to have tea and coffee since the rooms are bunk style. While a bunk style room is small our London hotel wasn’t much bigger haha, and we thought all the details were great- places to stash things, a towel warmer etc. We found the beds to be very firm and comfortable. Chango is a wonderful host and we enjoyed many conversations. He was so helpful! All of us loved “coming home” at the end of the cold day, having tea and chatting with Chango before heading back out. perfect place to wrap up our trip. IndiaI like the host chango and the dog easy. The room, beds and bathroom were very clean. Chango allowed us early check in without any extra cost. He kept out baggages after checkout for some time. He allowed us to use his kitchen. We didn't know our hotel is a boat until we reached there. It was a nice experience.

UkraineI don't have any complaints. Everything was fantastic. In my next trip to Amsterdam I will be sure to stay in Elodie again
It was one of the most pleasant hotel experiences I've ever had. Captain is really kind, interesting and overall an amazing person. Room for 3ppl was cozy, comfortable, clean and had everything that you need: shower with hot water, toilet, couple of closets, safe, sockets and soft beds. Location is probably one of the best you could get, just near Maritime museum and close to the center.

GermanyOn the first impression, sleeping room seemed really small (one side of the bed had a low ceiling), but once we had settled in we were impressed how well-thought everything was designed and how much storage room the cabins had, the boot and the cabins look very simple, but we slept very comfortably and can understand the amazing reviews.
Well-located near the main station in a very quiet area (it is a nice 15 min walk), Starbucks, supermarket(s) and several breakfast option within a 10 min walk), city center is also easily reachable with walking only. We liked to sit on the deck and enjoyed our little cabin too. The captain is known to be really welcoming and lived up to those descriptions here! He was always available when we had a question or a need. We were afraid it would be noisy on board but it wasn't even though the boat was fully booked while we were there.
