Room temperature impossible to control so very hot at night. No staff available to help with temperature control. Disappointed that in mid September restaurant was closed on a Monday evening.

Friendly welcome. Excellent bike storage. Large room and excellent bed. Opposite the ferry dock, and 100m from rail station. Good in-house restaurant. Amazing breakfast.

No good parking to (un)load your bags. Just one space but always occupied. Perhaps space can be made behind the hotel.

Very nice environment and very friendly people. Good base to go cycling and hiking.

Amazing to stay in the wine casks. The sauna and jacuzzi facilities were excellent. Nice to wander round Stavoren from the hotel and the hotel provided a very nice breakfast.

You need to park in a public parking on a street which is not very close to the hotel Beds could be more comfy, they were very very soft

The barrel is not noise-proof, so you hear what is happening outside. But for us it was ok. We had some communication problems during check-in as we do not speak Dutch. So the parking situation was not very clear to us. In the end we found a parking spot close by and seems that it was fine 😊

Very nice and beautiful room. Great location in the town center. All you need in walking distance. Bathroom and the barrel were amazing and definitely a great experience. Pet friendly. Classic good Dutch breakfast. Very nice staff.

Location directly overlooking the harbour- lots to watch. Our room was spacious and well appointed (non barrel) Restaurant was good, as was breakfast. All staff were helpful and pleasant.

No coffee making facilities or mini fridge to store anything in the room. Which was a shame given that the room had EVERYTHING else (sauna, jacuzzi bath etc.).

No kettle/Coffee/tea making facilities in room. That would have been useful for making hot drink before bed or before breakfast. Not sure why they dont have one??

Great location right at side of harbour. Another bar/restaurant opposite. Another a 2 minute walk Travelled on motorbike and was able to park it almost outside accommodation. Tourist info office and train station a couple of minutes walk.

My main annoyance was the lack of a desk chair for the splendidly sized desk. Laptops had to be used from a small and low coffee table. Not good. I also had a problem getting my luggage up some rather steep stairs, although in fairness it was mentioned on the confirmation which I seem to have overlooked. At checkout there was no internet service so I was sent to the ATM across the harbour to get cash. Walking with a stick made this a painful experience. Business continuity (or the show must go on) measures seem to have escaped them.

Then room was large and comfortable, although the decor seemed a little dated when compared to other hotels in the same price class. The were plenty of accessible power points. The most striking thing was the quiet location. There is very little traffic and the silence is incredible. The hotel's restaurant serves, without fail, excellent food and seems to be a popular venue. The outside terrace overlook a small harbour and the sunsets are something from out of this world. All the people looking after guests were, without fail, delightful.

The room seemed to not cool down at any point so we had to leave the door open a few times. But it wasn't too bad as fresh air was also nice once in a while inside.

Amazing experience in a wine barrel! Bed comfortable, whirepool worked perfect, sauna and the shower were awesome to use. The staff welcomed us very friendly. A very delicious wine bottle awaited us in the room. Very quiet to sleep well at night.
