How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It was really noisy, you could hear other guests walking, talking etc. The staff was really nice about it and did try to help us with it.
Friendly staff, food food, cozy and comfortable rooms. Despite being in the city center we rarely heard things from outside, even with the windows open

Bathroom could be a bit more private and insulated.
Breakfast was adequate, but not exceptional. Location was excellent for the city. Staff were a little diverted by the preparations for the forthcoming carnival. Helpful directions for parking.

The room was ice-cold when we got in and the room really was only four beds. Not even a kettle or a mini fridge to put milk. Heater did the trick after a bit, however, but we were really crammed in.
It was right in the centre and very convenient to everything. You check in via the restaurant and which was very busy. Gorgeous little square with restaurants and bars.

The shower curtain was terribly dirty and stuck together. Also stains on the bathroom wall from the curtain.
Room was quite large and comfortable for us. They let us check in a bit early. Location is great, on one of the main squares in Maastricht

Breakfast is cheap but also not that big of a selection. Good if you're in a rush but otherwise I would go somewhere else for breakfast
Location is perfect!! Really great to reach everything by foot Rooms are clean and quite modern and we even had a great view on Markt

Not much.
Small Hotel with elevator, location excellent. Staff very helpful. Lovely restaurant downstairs, reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again if returning to Maastricht.

Fantastic location in the main square surrounded by open air cafes, bars and restaurants. It's about 20 minutes very pleasant walk across the town and river. Lots of shopping in the area too. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are above the restaurant, with great views across the main square. The room had an electric fan, very useful as it was extremely hot outside. The room was small but everything there that I needed. Great shower. Very comfortable bed. Excellent buffet breakfast with a wide choice of very good quality products. I would definitely stay here again.

Hallway and room smelt really weird, the best way I could describe it is like stale popcorn and old faeces, it was faint but if you left the windows closed in your room you could smell it more. Shower grout also had some mould.
Bed was very comfortable and the location was amazing, especially travelling on foot only. Was close to many nice restaurants and cafes.

The room was very small, it was hard to crawl next to bed with the suitcases etc inside. The bed was too soft. Breakfast started from 8 sharp, which is okay for the weekend but quite late on a week day (we left on Monday to get to work).
I asked for a quiet room and they did arrange the most quiet room of the hotel, away from the street. Staff was very friendly and helpful, also when we wanted to check in earlier due to an event.

It would be good to have a small fridge (bar) and kettle.
Great location. Quite. Has possibility of breakfast for additional cost, also lunch and dinner. Very nice stuff!!! Quite room.

The bathroom is quite small but for the price I paid, its okay for me. It might be loud on the weekend. I stayed Sunday to Thursday so I did not have any issues with noise.
Centrally located. I had a room with balcony towards the market square. Reception is inside the restaurant but staff is quick and friendly if you need something. TV also has lots of international channels so that one can watch the news.

Very small room but nicely planned.
Great location, nice breakfast (coffee, tea, juice, baguettes, croissants, scrambled eggs, bacon, yoghurt, 3 types of cereal, 1 type of jam). Not excellent breakfast, but good. Very comfortable beds. Possibility of breakfast and lunch/dinner at hotel. Bus stop to railway station close by.
